David Keene, Grover Norquist, Brent Bozell and a whole lot more fiscal hawks have come out in favor of cutting some fat off the federal defense-cow. This is from Norquist's site (which I found tonight.)

I heard a blurb from McCain too. My opinion is like his, every government entity could use a good trim around the fat.

   Nothing wrong with strategically cutting defense..as long as they keep a watchful eye that the troops have every single item they need. Cut the pentagon itself and stop all the handshaking that costs us lots of money.
    I wont be for cutting defense UNLESS the cut the dept of education stop funding NPR and at least attempt to kill the aclu and cut their budget amongst all the rest.

You can rest assured cuts to DoD are coming and before its over...............

200,000 DoD Civilians to be cut loose.

Four Carrier Battle Groups sent to Mothball. The Nuclear Attack Submarine is a much better "Defensive" Platform.

AF will scrap all of its F-15s and F-16s.

Marines will scrap one division and one air wing.

The Army, at the end of Iraq and Ghanny, will downsize to 360,000.

That's just for starters.

Way too many other things to start with first.  Defense spending can wait...

I agree, there is so much BS out there, in the form of a social blanket, like the arts, PBS etc.
These along with planned parenthood support need to be abolished.

Seal the damned border and we could save Billions the first year from med costs to prison time.
Its the little things that add up, not the gash on the hand, but the thousands of tiny razor cuts that are bleeding us dry.

I know, it seems libs always want to protect their own and raise taxes, yet we never hear a Pub stand up and refuse a raise.
This is why the RINO are taking such a beating, and ear marks are another that needs to be fixed, at least a limit as to how many trailers a bill can have and a percentage cap on each ear mark.

Fine, but if we are gonna cut defense I say we cut the Govt across the board.

Personally, I'd disband the EPA, dept of Education, Dept of Energy and totally restructure the Treasury Dept to eliminate the ATF and
IRS, before I'd even think about doing the DOD.
