'My Wife Is a Hero': Georgia Mother Shoots Home Intruder Five Times After Being Cornered in Attic

The woman then shot him five times, but he survived, Chapman said. He said the woman ran out of bullets but threatened to shoot the intruder if he moved.

"She's standing over him, and she realizes she's fired all six rounds. And the guy's telling her to quit shooting," Chapman said.

This is why shot placement is so important when shooting criminals.

If she would have used Billy's patented "Mozambique" (2 rounds to center mass then "walk" the rest of them up into the fatal triangle of the face) a lot of taxpyers money would have been saved.

Strange, this.  Most accounts have her hitting him five out of six shots.  OK, but some accounts have him shot in the "head and neck" area, others specify wounds to the lungs, liver and stomach.

Maybe Mom was doing the shooting, but it sounds like the nine-year old twin girls were writing up the accounts for the newspapers.

I'm guessing a 25 or 32 caliber six shooter.
Which is another reason to avoid these small caliber weapons as a first response weapon, it should be a backup, but then, maybe it was her backup gun, the shot gun was in the other room.

Saw a guy try and commit suicide in Capital Park in Sacramento with a 25 auto, three shots to the head and they all bounced off.

Definitely. When the paramedics arrived, he said he had a splitting headache, an officer asked what he was thinking, he said, Huh, I can't hear you. Cops snickered...
Looking back, I laugh, but at the time it was pretty intense.

The sad part is, that the moron is probably on full disability, foodstamps, and medicaid for PTSD and hearing loss.

No doubt, he was about 20 years older than I, so he's either dead or in a nursing facility.
I'm thinking dead, he didn't really have all that bright of an outlook on life.
I could be wrong, But I'm pretty sharp about those things.

Damned dummies!

When I was in the Navy, I went to wake up a guy for watch. I get to his rack, and he's got blood all over his chest.

I say, "WTF are you doing?" :scared:

He was trying to kill himself by slashing his wrists with a soda tab. I laughed and told him to hold tight, I'd go get help.

I went up to the mess deck, got the biggest, sharpest butcher knife I could find, brought it down and handed it to him.

It really pissed him off..................but he knew that if I was on watch, I would help him die.

He didn't try it again.

And a boot in the ass.

True story, met a girl with nasty scars on her wrists, had trouble using her hands, I asked if they were from surgeries, she admitted she tried to slit her wrists, but instead of parallel lines, she butchered them laterally and cut the tendons.
Again, another complete failure in life to the point they fail at suicide.

Wanna bet she voted lib?

Maybe somebody should write a self help book on how to successfully off yourself. At least they could die as winners.

Actually there are several sites on the web.
Depression is a nasty monster, and for those trapped in it for years on end with no future, then sitting in a garage with the engine running is the best way to go.

Blowing ones brains out is nothing more than selfish and self centered and anger directed at those that will be forced to see the mess they left behind.

The worst is when they murder a bunch of others first.

I can only imagine that the torment they face on the other side, makes their earthly problems seem very minor.

This actually explains liberals and why they hate guns, they know others like them are extremely unstable.
It also explains why they put so much faith in Govt and faceless bureaucrats, they can't deal with life on their own, so they count on a roll of the dice that others are better suited for the task.

In truth, libs are cowards and hate dealing with life on their own, they see freedom as a Boogieman, they are children in need of a mommy, they simply can't stand the thought of life without someone telling them what to do.

Libs have done some good.

I credit them with bringing attention to our pollution problem back in the late 60's, early 70's................among other things.

I don't have a hatred for libs; they are good at organizing and protesting.....................and many times they are justified. They should never be allowed into positions of power within our government though. That's when they really go crazy.

I agree with you, libs are great at finding problems, they just always seem to take the solutions about ten steps too far.

After a few years in Homicide...I learned that when people off themselves they are sending a message in the method and place of
their demise.

Someone who goes home and blows his brains all over the kitchen or living room for his wife to find had some major issues with her.

True, they are demanding the sympathy they felt they deserved, as delusional as that is.
I know many that have offed themselves over the years, and in every case, it was self pity, and why me God BS.
Depression is a bitch, no one is to blame, they just couldn't handle it any longer, but they still can't help sending that message that is was someones fault other than their own.

And statistics prove that the worst time of the year for Depression (and suicides) is that period of the Holidays....no wonder this kid in Newtown chose that time to kill others and himself before Christmas.

I think or at least hope the two are very different.   I think killing one's self is sad and often tied to depression that was too much for them to take and greater than those around them realized.  I saw depression up close and personal and it is awful.  Bad for the person and it batters everyone around that person.

Now the person who goes out and kills a bunch of people or even a single person before offing themselves is another matter all together.  I feel no sorrow for that person and for those who succeed at killing others but not themselves I think I would gladly hand them the tools to do it correctly to themselves.

I think that the person who handed that guy the butcher knife is lucky.  If that person took the knife and proceded to kill himself he would probably still be sitting in a military prison.  When I was young and dumb I might have did exactly the same thing but have read a few stories of people going to jail because they provide the suicide person something so that they could do it right.  I see no reason to jail someone when they were helping a loved one who was in great pain from an incurable disease.

As close as I got to suicide was actually a friends experience.   His best friends son with whom he was close called him and said that he could not take it anymore and he wanted to kill himself.  He called the father but could not get him and then raced to the house.  When he got there he could not find the son initially until he found him shot in the bathroom.  He got there too late.  I still get the chills when I think about it.

The guy was a friend of mine.
I didn't leave him alone with the butcher knife, just a little reverse psychology. He got so pissed off that I could be so callus, he got up and went to watch. We talked later. I'm actually pretty good at counceling people..................or I was. I don't have any credentials, so these days, I prefer not to get involved with people and their mental/emotional problems.

Suicide is a really bad idea. My neighbor's 22 year old son has been talking like that. Hopefully he gets over it.

I also think that our fluffy, PC, liberal world that we have created, leaves kids so pampered and spoiled, that they become overwhelmed with the reality of adulthood, and find out the cold hard truth, that they are not as special as they were led to believe. Just my opinion.

If you not working for your own spending money outside the house by 10 years old, you're in for a big shock.   I was not the only kid doing yard work all around town as a kid.  But I was the highest paid kid.

I cut grass, raked leaves, shoveled snow................you name it. Started working in the tobacco fields, during the summers, when I was 12. They just picked us all up in an old school bus.

I don't even see kids making the attempt anymore. Life ain't easy; the earlier kids can get that in their little heads, the better.
