Quinnipiac shows Terry Branstad leading his opponents by between 16% and 18%, and already at around 50% of the vote in his re-election bid.

Looking forward to 2016, Christie leads Clinton by 5% in Iowa (due to curbstomping her among Independent voters [44-35]

Clinton leads Rand Paul by 1%, and leads Jeb Bush & Ted Cruz by 7%

Last poll (July) showed Clinton and Christie tied at 41, so this shows considerable improvement in the GOP's prospects in Iowa.

There's a little known effect about these polls and when they're taken and who paid for them.

Something to watch for, is look at which candidate just saturated the news in a given area, then watch for a poll to follow.
This is one of the disadvantages Cruz faces in these polls, even though he was never even been in the area, didn't kiss babies or make a million hollow promises, the polls include him anyway, and we're supposed to give credence to these weird polls?

I agree with your argument, but disagree with the premise that Cruz is a stranger in Iowa.

Has he been stumping and going door to door in Iowa?
If not, and Christie had, then then the poll was done for no other reason, than to boost fat ass numbers.

I could be wrong about this, and if I am, please call me on it, but I'm pretty sure that Christie hasn't visited Iowa since 2011.

I think I mixed this poll with another.
But you have to question such a poll.
Look at questions 16 and 17 and tell me this wasn't weighted poll towards women, or that people lied in their answer to political affiliation when claiming Independent.

Christie is going to rate high in polls, he is a Democrat at heart.
