Trump Must Pay Half a Billion Dollars Before He Can Appeal New York Decision

Say it with me 1000 times. UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!

We're at war folks! And the First State to collapse will be NY!:sneaky:

In the wake of the massive judgment against Donald Trump, many in New York are celebrating the prospect that the former president could be forced to sell off his property just to be able to appeal the $355 million judgment against him. While Trump has good grounds to object to this excessive fine, he still has to come up with close to a half billion dollars just to make his arguments to the New York Court of Appeals.

So, by making the fine so large, Engoron not only makes an appeal difficult, but could guarantee that Trump will lose tens of millions even if his judgment is dramatically reduced or tossed out.

On top of this looming penalty, however, he already owes the writer E. Jean Carroll $83.3 million in damages from a separate defamation case that concluded in January. His legal fees are also mounting as he battles four criminal cases at the federal and state level.

The addition of this recent $83.3 million in damages would bring the demand to over half a billion dollars in deposits with interest.

There is already speculation of whether Trump will have to leverage or sell his iconic properties at distressed prices. He has 30-days to ante up with the court and buyers could use that deadline to their advantage. The added amount is due to another New York provision imposing a massive 9 percent interest rate on judgments.

That means that every day, Trump is being hit by roughly $90,000 in just interest increases.

For those on the left who can't figure out why Ny is collapsing?
This is a literal slap in the face of our Republican form of Govt, where valuing ones product for the Mkt, acquiring loans based on real value, selling said product and pulling a profit, could be detrimental if your adversary takes you to a rigged court for any reason.

They could bankrupt you and steal your hard earned money.
That's what the judges are doing Trump, and if you are a Conservative in NY, you are next on the targets list.

Capitalism died in NY this week!

With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

Eighth Amendment
Most often mentioned in the context of the death penalty, the Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishments, but also mentions "excessive fines" and bail. The "excessive fines" clause surfaces (among other places) in cases of civil and criminal forfeiture, for example when property is seized during a drug raid.

Primary tabs
Amendment VIII
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

The above Quote is from the Cornell Law website

This should be emailed and posted by every concerned citizen in the US to these Judicial Tyrants...not that they would ever heed Constitutional law.

I used to be involved in Asset Forfeiture back in the day, and the GOVT has to PROVE the Asset was the proceeds of a CRIMINAL ACT and there has to be a hearing before a Judge to determine that, this sounds like Letitia is making up laws as she goes along, essentially holding Private Property hostage. Illegal to say the least.

New York has a law that one must pay all fines
before even being allowed to appeal the legitimacy of the fine?
By the same principle, a defendant would have to be executed
before being allowed to appeal the legitimacy of the conviction!

This is an OBVIOUS case of taking property without due process!
Anything less than ALL of the process that is due
is not the process that is due!

This is an opportunity for Trump's lawyers to challenge the New York statute in federal court.
New York might have just caused itself to have its statute struck down!
Here are the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 13, 2021 - NEVER forget!

Yeah, and it's unconstitutional under the excessive fines and penalties clause.
A lot of Marxists will be going down over this.

Here's an analogy to help us understand the Trump "fraud" case in New York.

Imagine you want to sell your old car.
You advertise it for sale at $4000.
The best offer you receive is $3000.
You accept the offer, and sell the car for $3000.
Then the government steps in and prosecutes you for "fraud" because you asked for $4000!
That's what New York is doing to Trump!

He asked a bank to finance a real estate deal, claiming that the property is worth $400 million.
The bank said, "No, it's worth only $300 million."
Trump accepted the bank's offer.
The bank financed the deal based on the $300 million valuation.
Even now, the bank is saying that the deal was completely fair,
and that they are completely willing to do keep doing business with Trump.

There was no victim!  There was no fraud!
Except by the prosecutor, and by the judge,
who publicly stated that he was going to find Trump guilty,
before hearing any of the evidence!

The prosecution is the crime!

I majored in Real Estate and the one thing in my appraisal course that is meaningful. All values are an opinion! The only the real value is determined is when a property is sold. The sales price is the true value of that property at that point in time.
