I hear that Ron Paul will attempt to speak at the Republican National Convention. If Romney supporters try to block this then some unnecesary political infighting might break out.

Don't you need to have won a certain number of delegates to be guaranteed to speak. Did Paul reach that cut off point? Does Paul promise to follow the party line, or is he going to go off on his own.

Many supporters of Paul will be in Tampa at an alternate site, is my understanding. I am sure he will address them. He, to my knowledge does not have the requisite number of delegates to be guaranteed a speaking slot. Romney, I am sure, will not offer him one. As far as following the party line, hell, I hope he doesn't. Few candidates have for the last 70 years.

You realize, of course, that much of Ron Paul's support comes from non Republicans. And that they support Paul - and Paul alone - not the Republican candidate - which makes allowing them in a party event problematic. As not a few of the caucus votes during the primary showed, when "Ronulans" don't get their way, things can get ugly.

So I care if PUBS don't support Paul?

I may have to vote for Romney against Obama, but I damned sure don't support the 'progressive' bastard.

I think the Republicans would be wise to let Ron Paul have his say. While I don't agree with several of his political stances, I think a lot of his beliefs are spot on. Generally, I'm guessing that the Tea Party can identify with Paul's anti-government platforms than they do with the Republican Party itself.

I suspect he might be offered a minor speaking roll.

I don't seriously they will give him a speaking spot. They may, but Pubs don't like mavericks except when he is a approved one like McCain't.

Strangely, Walks, with my plastic eyes, I have good vision. Probably going to need a laser zap on the left one in a couple of years, but I see good. It's my ears that have gone bad. ( among other things )

I have to have my eyes worked on in a year or two.  Have been using hearing aids for 10 year.  Even at that I have 10% lose in the voice range.  The good wife call it selective hearing.     So I do a lot of lipreading to fill in the gaps.  At my age I am lucky to just breathe in and breathe out.

Shooter, if anyone ever got hold of your vote for this coming election, and your last Texas gubernatorial election, and this is all they had to go on, they would be thinking "Hey, look at this guy Shooter... He was a total RINO!!!"...

Mark this, Taxed, as a Shooterism. I really couldn't care less what people call me. If they wish to call me a RINO, be my fokking guest. I've been called a lot of things in my life and am still standing.

For your information, I probably am a RINO by many standards because I am not wed to the PUBS. Their offering at this moment seems to be only slightly better than what we have in the White House, so yeah, given that difference, I have to vote PUB, but I damned sure don't have to like it.

Any questions? :ttoung:

Reading your posts (above) to Walks, and his to you, standing HOW? :ttoung:

I'm about the same as for the GOP. Ford's pardoning Nixon was my tipping-point. Thereafter, every election they have to prove they are less worthless than a Democrat.
