Title: Republicans would learn well from Norwegian politics
Post by: Mountainshield on November 08, 2013, 02:53:09 AM
QuoteRepublican Rep. Patrick Meehan, who like [Republican Rep. Charlie] Dent hails from a moderate Pennsylvania district, said an increased dialogue among House Republicans is already happening, and he was optimistic that those conversations would help the GOP conference show a united front in fiscal discussions with the Democratic-led Senate and the White House.

"We're probably going to do more to talk to ourselves to try to be a little bit more unified and to put some thought into where we think we ought to be," Meehan said. "I think people appreciate that when you eliminate yourself from negotiations, you're operating from a position of weakness."

The Republican Establishment could learn much from Norwegian politics, and that is the simple rule that People never appreciate when you hold hands with the failiures of the ruling regime!

The most right wing political party in Norway attacked the moderate conservative ruling regime for its failing policies relentlessly, much harder than the leftist attacked, and that party increased its votes by 10-15% by not being at the negotiating table.

If you want to get votes you need to attack the regime because it is they who have the responsibility, they are in power and people don't care about politicial stratagems they want to see opposition. Its a reason why the center right parties in norway declined to be a part of a right wing government, it is because they will get more votes by not being in power and by attacking the regime.

This "law" proved itself true with the last regime as well, the Socialist Party of only 8% got together with the labor party and center party in forming a government, during this time they were tied to every scandal and every failure which led to the Green Party stealing 50% of their votes since they were able to attack the socialist party as they were in the ruling regime. These Rhino's will be the downfall of the GOP.

RINO's have been exposed since '03 (Coulter backing a Gingrich run), but it takes a while to remove weeds from the garden.  It's a slow process.

That said, I want Repubs to win; RINO's or not.  The weeding process continues...

I haven't read about Norway's new Government yet, but things seem reasonably serene.  -Was mostly following Norwegian shipping-insurance protocols, because most of the Panama Canal traffic is insured by Norwegian firms.

The Greens may be sucking socialist-voters away, though.  They're good at sucking.
