I thought the headline should have stated "Republican Establishment Declares War on "Tea Party or Conservative" Voters...I guess the Republican party does act like the democraps and can't tell the truth.

All in all very interesting read. What I take out of this is the republicans will never learn a lesson from this last election. Bring it on John "GOP Establishment" Boehner, i'm geared up and ready for your fight Mr. Speaker.

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

I'm new here, trying to figure out the lay of the land.  What was the "lesson from this last election" that you refer to?

So based on the fact that 7 out of 10 Pubs were against the fiscal cliff deal and those numbers reflect the populace at large, correct?
Then the GOP is fighting 70% of their supporters for the reins.
Yeah, that sounds like a smart move General RINO, Tsun Zu teachings show you are on the losing end of a very poorly planned attack.

We just might kick these RINO to the curb sooner than we thought possible.

Maybe that nobody showed up to vote might be a great starting point. Putting forth the same old same old candidate that voters don't get excited about might be another lesson. Being afraid to take the gloves off and fight might be something I might have done. Do you really think we lost this last election because Obama was a better candidate...?

If yes, then for you my friend there is no lesson to be learned and your victory is well deserved. Your plan for detroying America is on course and you can tell your childern and grandchildern what great President Obama was your kind of American.

If the other applies I'm thinking you can come up with so many more lessons then I could ever come up with.

"Unfortunately, by seeking to protect the insiders from the voters, all indications are that most establishment Republicans would rather blame the voters and keep their perks. "
And that's pretty much all that needs to be said about the Republican party "leadership". Has it occurred to these clowns that screwing with your constituents means they don't show up on election day? Fixing the game may sound like a winner - until you realize you need their votes.

Bronx, that is an excellent point. The election wizards in the GOP should be asking "why".  On the margins, I believe some folks did not show up because Romney is a Mormon. However, that is not the real reason. For two campaigns the GOP did not go after Obama, his background and lack of any record of accomplishment. Many folks are just fed up!

I remember hearing about something interesting in California primaries.  Essentially, it boiled down to taking the top two primary winners to the general election, and not the top from each party.  Can't remember if that was actually being implemented, or just being talked about.

Do you think something like that would help here?  It seems like a better representation of the people.

The entire notion of bipartisanship is a joke. They already are bipartisan.

This solidifies what I've been saying for years............

There are two teams; them, and us. "Them", are the self serving crap that work in Washington. "Us", is the rest of us.

"They" win, and "We" lose. The only thing that ever changes, is that "They" keep getting more expensive, and "We" have to pay the bills.

At least the GOP recognizes the national debt is a problem. I have noticed over the past week more and more dems are saying the debt doesn't matter and we need more stimulus. This is not news, but they obviously are ignoring history and reality.

On another note. Not that we can believe what Obama says, but Jay Carney stated yesterday that the administration is not considering using the 14th Ammendment to bypass Congress on the debt ceiling. I hope the House stands by their word and not increase the ceiling without "real" spending cuts. If Obama stonewalls then let the administration make the hard decsions what they have to cut.

I really can't comprehend how any of them can continue piling on this debt, and claim that they are doing the work of the "People". It makes me sick.

Bottom line is there is not much (if any) difference between current R's & D's.
If it was easy everyone would be do'in it.

It seems to me that the great failing of the Republican establishment is their obsessive need for approval by the media.

The lesson from the last election is this:

"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

Our founding fathers were very wise men. Unfortunately, Obama has no use for wise men.
