just one of those fleeting, never take hold, four month long (and counting) protests.

Isn't this where the supporters of the constitution get behind those exercising their rights??

only if protesting conservative causes. none of this liberal stuff!
Get those commies out of the park!

I heard that in the 60's too.
AND we stopped the war didn't we!!

Everyone here supports the RIGHT of people to protest...do you think "protest" gives one the right to build a shaty town in a public park to the detriment of others who may want to use and enjoy that public land?

What else can one do in the name of Constiutionally protected free speech

Trash a building, set stuff on fire, run amok in the streets?

Ok Billy, I think that's and easy question.

I am going to go ahead and say no to"

These are not sports fans!

It's a sit in with tents. They have computers and uplinks to the internet. live streaming vid feeds.
This is not a bunch of losers with nothing else to do. These are people from across the spectrum of citizens all with different beefs with the system.
Just like you guys got beefs against the system!
But they are putting their beefs right in the government/establishments face WITH commitment!

You wouldn't see me camping out there overnight!

Sure the homeless probably gravitate there because there is food shelter and support.
Can you blame them?

Like they have choices.
Cause it's your RIGHT to be homeless and starve in the streets here in America.

They do not have the right to occupy someone else property. They do not have the right prevent people from going to work. they do not have the right to cause a health hazard.  it has nothing to do with free speech.

Now show me what part of the Constitution says you have a RIGHT to occupy public space with a tent/shanty or prefab house.

This whole "occupy thing" has been decided before in DC it started with Ellen and David Thomas who were "No Nukes" back in the Jimmy carter era, followed by Norman Meyer (who caught a bullet in the head for his stupidity) then came along Mitch Snyder, advocate for the homeless....
Reagan Era...then came the Gulf war with a host of retread hippies.

Each one of those groups over a period of twenty years to my knowledge
in some shapre or form did the same thing Occupying Lafayette park, McPherson square and other DC parks 24/7 with tents, lean to's
etc etc, Various Judges have ruled that such"occupations" things are not protected by free speech or protests.

Must we go thru the whole sorry exercise again?

So. Because some stupid Libtards did it originally - and got away with it - we're supposed to suffer the same mindless stupidity forever. BTW, what exactly did all those other occupations accomplish?

Yep --- making sure the enthusiasm won't be there for any student protests similar to what brought down the criminal Johnson administration. It's brilliant. Let them vent early and avoid the embarrassment later at the DNC convention.

Just a head fake.
Watch those ass clowns show up at the GOP convention - supposedly representing the 99%.

The DNC cares only about avoiding Chicago, 1968. What these Occucommie assclowns do at RNC events is only business-as-usual.

As a resident of Tampa, it'll be interesting to see what dregs of the commie and radical movement decide to show up to protest the GOP convention.

Good point. In 1968, the demonstrators hated the "Old" Democratic party, worse than we hate our own RINO's. They were the Lunatic Left - that was to shortly take over the Dimocraptic party.  The Occuturds now are part of the DNC. It's who they take their marching orders from. When they show up outside the GOP convention, EVERYONE knows it's a Dimo ploy - even when they pretend not to.

Obama has far more to worry about from the hard left than hard right. He's failed them on so many fronts that I can easily envision some leftist loony in the figurative bell-tower, ending our national error.

It won't be me. He's not worth the bullet.

Actually he hasn't failed them. Whenever it comes down to pleasing them or the good of the country, he pleases them. Keystone, Oil drilling in the Gulf, forcing Catholic charities to support Abortion, etc.. The left just loves that clown.

Point is THEY DIDN'T get away with it....a Federal Judge ruled against them and said that protests under first amendment DIDN'T cover living abodes.
