Title: more on tax rates
Post by: elmerfudd on February 04, 2012, 11:49:33 AM

Pretty good article.  Here's a pithy comment taken from it:

"The best way to have everyone pay their fair share is to tax all income (whether earned or unearned) at the same rates," his accountant, Jeffrey Rosenthal, said.

I'd have to see Mr. Ross's tax return before I could really feel sorry for him, though.  I think there's some additional info being withheld.

I have a better solution, gut the Gov and save billions daily.

Might that not do away with the forestry service and other government jobs, like welfare departments, and many government pensions, including VA, as well?  Or were you planning to spare those?

As Farmer Bunce told Congressman Davy Crockett; it is not yours to give.

Leaving a work force of 10% is gutting in my book.
We could consolidate many of these over bloated agencies like the USFS forest Service and be way ahead of the game.
Just think if we had a part time Legislature?

I do know it was a simple retort to your idiocy, Elmer, but it had nothing to do with Solar. Here is how this works, Elmer. You post to an open forum; your comments, as inane as they are, is open to comment by any and all, without, at least to my knowledge, having to get your approval to do so. Can't handle it, don't post.

Are you aware of who, exactly, Farmer Bunce, was, or are you just being a shit for shits sake?

Shooter, are you assuming Elmer even knows who Davy Crockett was?   :))

In fairness, Walks, I doubt if most school kids in Texas now days knows who Davy Crockett was. The Junior High I attended was named Dayid Crockett. It was old and finally torn down, replaced by some African name I couldn't even pronounce. Our cross town rivals were Dick Dowling and James Bowie, both gone as far as I know, replaced by some Afro dude or duddetts.

I heard the story as a kid, but was to young to give it reference or appreciate it in its message, though I was raised to think along the lines of old Bunce.
Its nice reading it as an adult, but it also merely enforces my belief that DC socialists and RINO alike will continue to use the Treasury to buy votes and line their pockets, only to deeper entrench themselves like a tick on the American populace.

I was always amazed that Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone bore such a striking resemblance to Fess Parker.

LOL for the young people yes.   There something about the new educational system that is leaving out real history of long ago.

As an aside, Elmer, I would strongly suggest there is something, not only criminal about theft by coercion, but highly immoral, as well.

All taxes are collected by coercion. There is no other way.  Even sales taxes.

But, but,..Shooter. Morals will be determined by The State. The taxes are going to a Higher Power and for many there is no 'higher power' than The State.  >:D >:D

If they're Constitutional mandated, we can keep them - depending upon size.
You realize that the VA can be considered a form of military pay.
And the defense of the country is Constitutionally mandated. And the forestry Service should only concern themselves with stewardship of federal lands. Which raise the question of why the Federal government hasn't sold those lands. It's not as if they don't need the money.
It also amazes me how Leftists are always in favor of stopping things the government is SUPPOSED to do, in favor of things it has NO CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE to do.

I love it when lefties use veterans as human shields to protect their piles of government pork.

Just like the lefties like it.

Just a little thought. Giving away what other people have earned isn't generosity. It's something else. ;)

Yes, unless they were idiots, and I don't think they were.  Even tariffs are collected by coercion.  (Anti-smuggling enforcement, for example.

You're not some greenhorn that thinks any tax just flows into the treasury absent some penalty for non-compliance, are you?
