Frank Luntz' main squeeze, Kevin McCarthy, may not have the votes to be Speaker of the House. I've been operating under the premise that they kicked up enough support, but it looks like that's not yet the case.

From the NY Post:

"The coalition against Kevin has already reached critical mass," said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida), one of the Speaker-in-waiting's most implacable foes.

The hard no's on McCarthy currently include Gaetz, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-South Carolina), and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Arizona). Two other members, Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-Montana) and Rep. Bob Good (R-Virginia) have both issued tough statements denouncing McCarthy.

"We need a leader who can stand up to a Democrat-controlled Senate and President Biden, and unfortunately, that isn't Kevin McCarthy," Rosendale said earlier this month.

Here's what I'd like:

Many of the GOP hardliners have sought changes to House rules that would give them more leverage over McCarthy in the next Congress — including reconstituting the "motion to vacate the chair" that would allow any member of the House to be able to call for the removal of a sitting Speaker.

It's a good sign. Hopefully it will lead to a change and we can see a conservative as speaker. I'm not betting yet.

All of the Republican McLeadership (McCarthy, McConnel, McDaniel) needs to go to prison for Treason with the probable of the Rep party and 99% of the Dems in Washington.

After that person is in place we can have our internal battles. The democrats want for us to be totally in disarray so we are distracted from them implementing their radical ideas and programs.

No, the Establishment will not be allowed to set the narrative ever again! We've worked way to hard, only to concede at this point!

Whoever does get the job, and if McCarthy does, communication lines must remain open so the conservative voice is an influence on all decision. But, lets not go down without a fight because we can win this. If we do not fight now, I have no reasonable expectation the conservative voice will be listened to in the future.  The senate might just be a good example of this, time will tell, but since rino McConnell did not have a challenge, I do not think he will push any conservative agenda.

It's amazing how much I disagree with you. I don't keep track of folks here. Politically speaking what what do you consider yourself?
