Libyan witnesses recount organized Benghazi attack  -  by PAUL SCHEMM and MAGGIE MICHAEL

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- It began around nightfall on Sept. 11 with around 150 bearded gunmen, some wearing the Afghan-style tunics favored by Islamic militants, sealing off the streets leading to the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. They set up roadblocks with pick-up trucks mounted with heavy machine guns, according to witnesses.

The trucks bore the logo of Ansar al-Shariah, a powerful local group of Islamist militants who worked with the municipal government to manage security in Benghazi, the main city in eastern Libya and birthplace of the uprising last year that ousted Moammar Gadhafi after a 42-year dictatorship.

Sounds as if it may have taken some considerable time to mount the ensuing attack, not like they just exploded and went off on bystanders.  They had a planned attack

I watched Huckabee this weekend and the reporter said that the type of weaponry used would have had to have been meticulously calibrated and one specific part would have had to have been installed in the weapon in the daylight, so they had to have planned at least 24 hours in advance.  The use of those weapons alone should have told anyone in the military or intelligence that it was not spontaneous.

That's about what my 'sheriff' said.  They were using mortars that would have taken some considerable time to set up.  They did surveilance that showed them their targets as well, making all of this a planned attack.
