Poll
Question:
The Election is tommorow, Who will you vote for?
Option 1: Cruz
Option 2: Trump
It's crunch time, everyone here has been demanding a Conservative run for POTUS.
Well, we got a good one in Cruz, yet I see many willing to throw out their principles for an unknown, untested candidate.
My question is, why would you be willing to throw out a perfectly good Conservative when we finally have a shot at stealing the GOP from the socialists?
I really don't expect an answer, it's more of a statement to get people to realize what is at stake.
Tried and true, or the surprise mystery box behind door #2?
This ain't no freakin game show people. This is our future!!!!
Cruz of course!
Ted. I wish it was tomorrow.
Im Cruz-in for a Rino bruisin

A better poll would be to list all the candidates and pick your top 4 in numbered order! That might tell you more!

The poll is irrelevant. I just want people to think a little before getting swallowed in the trump wave.
Very simple. I will vote for Cruz in the primary. But if Trump wins the nomination, I could stomach (barely) voting for him in the general. I can not say that about very many of the republican hopefuls.

I can't stomach at all. They better get rid of him before the election or I am not going to vote for him. That would be like voting for a Liberal. Its a no go for me. At that point its evil or evil.
Overall I disagree with this post. It is still early. I like Cruz and think he is probably the best candidate. But coming into the Primary we need choices. I have already chosen not to even entertain Trump Inc.

True, but I can "stomach" voting for any in my first tier -- of course, some more than others. I honestly don't expect my second tier list to be a threat. That includes Bush. He won't be there.
No question. Cruz. Trump is too shallow.
It's a trick question everyone!!!!!!! Trump won't make it to the end!!!
Cruz!
I always vote for the best one available at the time.
Given the choice offered in the original post, it would definitely be Cruz.
If the best is not available, at least vote against the worst. Minimize the damage.
NEVER just stay home! NEVER !!!!!!!!
If it's a close race IN MY STATE, I vote for the one most likely to defeat the worst.
If either major candidate has a big lead, I vote Constitution Party or some such.
Fringe candidates can really send a message.
A fringe candidate who goes from 1% to 2% really alarms the major parties.
They don't like ANYONE wandering off the plantation!
In 1928, the Socialist Party got 1% of the vote.
One term later, FDR enacted EVERY SINGLE PLANK of the Socialist Party platform!
If someone is running unopposed, I don't vote in that race.
I think it would be hilarious if someone ran unopposed,
and still got ZERO votes!
At least I'm doing MY part!
One more thing about not staying home:
one time, in a local school board race, my candidate won by ONE vote!
That actually does happen!

I used to follow that ideology as well, and that's how the Establishment gained control over the GOP.
Never again, Never!
I will not settle for 10th best ever again.
Let the country collapse if necessary, but continuing to repeat stupid, will definitely lead to communism.
There is only one possible way I will vote in this election: when Cruz is the nominee. He's the only one I trust, and has a record of conservatism.

Same here. We finally have a real Conservative running, and we need to take advantage of this opportunity.
Is he perfect? Not by a long shot, but he's leaps and bounds ahead of all the rest.
So what happens when Trump, JEB or some other pseudo-conservative in nominated? Stay home, vote for the pseudo,3rd party or something else?
I'm sick of voting for the lesser or two evils and I don't want to stay home so I may be forced to do write in or 3rd party.

... that's how the Establishment gained control over the GOP.
No, the Establishment controls the GOP through
the Precinct Captains, who control the Party resources at the county level,
and the State Central Committees, who control the Party resources at the state level.
They are the "man behind the curtain" of whom we are told to "pay no attention."
They control the distribution of money, and the endorsements.
It's the endorsements that the RINO
voters blindly follow (just like brain-dead Democrats!)
and nominate atrocities like McCain.
Any conservative who expects to be living at the same address for the next few years
should MUST run for Precinct Captain!
In most counties, there are many vacant seats there for the taking!
Seats that don't attract a candidate get filled by appointment - by the Establishment!
THAT'S how the Establishment controls the Party!
And there's so MUCH opportunity for us to just walk in and grab control right back!
For more info, do a search on "precinct project".

Silence means consent. Not voting is NOT a protest! It is consent!
If you want to cast a protest vote, you have to cast a vote!
If both major parties are too awful for you, vote against both!
For President at least, the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party are always on the ballot.
But remember, refusing to vote for the lesser of two evils
helps elect the GREATER of the two evils!

If you stay home..... do you not want to vote for any other race on the ballot? Is the Presidency your only interest?
As for me, I would vote third party or write-in for President and then vote the rest of the ballot. Staying home is NEVER a valid option for a committed Patriot.
BTW, I am late to this thread but voted and found that Trump had no votes yet and Cruz had 12. I think this Forum is solidly on track!

The question is a little too simplistic! The Question involved the primary and yes I would support Cruz over Trump in the primary, however if Cruz was to lose the primary and Trump was to win it, I would support him over anything the Dim's have to offer! That is how we ended up with Obama last time. If the democrats win this time our country as we know it is over!

Excellent point. We still need to rid ourselves of Boehner and McConnell.
I'm voting for whoever the Republican nominee is, carrying-on the family tradition. I don't like libs. Not voting against libs is too weird at this late date.
I spend too much energy knocking 'em down to waste a physical opportunity to knock them down at the ballot-box.

I've already made up my mind for Cruz unless he does something really stupid and I doubt that he will. I really don't think he'll ever come off as a rino. He's too articulate, too learned as far as DC goes and just plain old smart for the rest of us. He's is saying all the things I think America wants to hear. OTOH, Trump is saying all the right things too but not convincingly because his words don't pack the punch i think they ought to. Call it a gut feeling, but I still think he is in the race for a reason other than wanting to win. I watcded Trump's event in Grennville SC today and it was like watching the Tennessee event just the other day. His delivery was ok but too topical. When he got a topic over it was like he didn't elaborate on anything he planned to do. He just said what he wanted to do by topic, not giving any details. That might be ok because you don't want the other candidates to know of your strategy but at some point you'll need to sway the possible anti-Trump voters that just want to see a sideshow.
There are come 'conservative' forums that are head over heels in love with Trump. Go figure.

I dont want another Obamao executive ordering everything that he can't get thru Congress, Left or right or in the Middle an Imperial President is the last thing we need.

The original post is hypothetical. I don't know what the situation will be in March, when I get to vote.
If there's a hot race between The Donald and Jeb!, I'll vote against Jeb!, which means The Donald.
If The Donald has the nomination pretty much sewn up by then, I'll vote for Ted,
to help persuade The Donald to choose him for VP.
There really is a very good chance that The Donald would choose Ted.
One of the Donald's core values is he LOVES a tenacious fighter!
Ted's proven himself very well in the Senate!
I can't help noticing that The Donald is bashing Jeb!, and not Ted. I see that as a good sign.
I can't wait to see how all this plays out!

Thatcher!
I'd vote for her in an instant, she'd be a damn sight better than Obama or anyone of the dems, and most of the Republicans too.
Too bad she was a Brit and therefore not eligible to be our President.
Even though, and despite the fact our Congress has allowed the Kenyan to serve in that position.
Frankly at this point, I'd rather cast my vote for Garfield the cat, than most of those with their hat in the ring. That said however by the time we get to vote in our primary, I suspect what is going to happen is this. The same thing as the last time round with Mitt.
We'll be able to vote for anyone of the myriad candidates. But, a vote for anyone other than Trump will be throwing a vote away.
And helping Clinton...gag, puke, gag!
Maybe you CAN vote for Thatcher.
After all, a few years ago in Missouri,
a candidate for Governor died a few weeks before the election.
And still won!

It's a brilliant move when you think about it. Ted is not being given any airtime on purpose because he scares the shit out of the Establishment, and in direct opposition to the Lefts agenda of total governmental control over Americans.
So when you think about it, LIV's and Libs really know nothing about Cruz because Trump is sucking up all the attention, and a Cruz alignment forces Trumps supporters to take a look at the quiet Conservative. When these libs discover that a True Conservative is all about Liberty, there'll be a huge shift in polling, and it will all favor Cruz.
I can't stress enough, just how masterful Cruz is running his campaign.

I have a very short list that I will vote for given the opportunity... That I CAN vote for with a good conscience... That is to say I am FINISHED with the Republican party and its betrayal of We the People... So there are Republican candidates I simply will NOT vote for, regardless of who the Dems nominate...
My short list is Cruz first and foremost, followed by Jindal, Trump, or Fiorina...
But I'm also a realist and often my first choice washes out of the primary race before I get a chance to vote... Realistically, unless some miracle happens, I don't think Jindal has the financial legs or the machine behind him to finish this race... I can't speak for Fiorina because I simply don't follow her that closely so I don't know much about her campaign...
Cruz is clearly THE Constitutional Originalist with the best public impact, but the media (and the Republican power brokers) intend to freeze him out at their earliest possible opportunity...
Realistically Trump is the 900 lb gorilla in the room that WILL NOT be ignored and is in fact scaring the pants off the RINOs and Lefties alike... In fact I believe its Trumps presence on the stage that is keeping the RINOs and Leftists distracts and off of Ted's back... If Trump wasn't there being his scary outrageous self, the Pubs and the media would be "doing a Palin" on Ted Cruz to destroy him early...
The four names I mention are the only ones in this race that I can support in good conscience (yes I know about the amazing Dr. Carson but I have a problem with him, to be discussed later)... Cruz is head and shoulders above the rest but in a real world where the party power brokers are waging war on Conservatives and have every intention of driving Conservatism out of the primary race, I can't be certain that my man will finish the course...
If Cruz is in the race when my state comes up, he has my vote - Period..!
But if not, and Mr. Trump is still in it, I have every intention of voting for Trump, if for no other reason than to bitch-slap the Republican power machine... He's as qualified to hold the office as ANY AMERICAN CITIZEN and I'm sick to death of this arrogant attitude among the insiders that you have to have government experience to qualify for the office... We have tried that for decades and we now see what a hot recommendation that was...
If none of the four candidates mentioned win the nomination, I will simply withhold my vote... I REFUSE to participate in anymore of this Republican con-game... I don't care if the Dems nominate Lucifer himself, I will NOT vote for a RINO...
RINOs don't represent me anymore than Democrats do... This election is a pivotal point in the survival of the America I grew up in... I will vote for Conservativism or none at all...
So sayeth Laz...
I will write Cruz if need be as of right now.

An excellent point. Cruz is gaining more support, but the establishment and MSM are fixated on Trump. That is fine, Cruz is slowly building support. He will pick up most of the Jindal and Santorum followers, as well as Huckabee. I don't see Trump and Fiorina as hurting conservatives as they do provide distraction.
