Title: Greenland, Gulf Of America, Panama Canal?
Post by: Solar on January 08, 2025, 07:32:44 AM
Will Trump Do It?

Greenland is a stretch, but it will happen eventually, and the Panama Canal WILL be back under our Control, but Gulf Of America?
In truth, it should never have been coined that in the first place, when in fact we've always been known as the Americas, so Gulf Of America totally makes sense.

I was cracking up at the left claiming the United States didn't even exist before Spain showed up, so their reasoning is, we shouldn't even have a say.

Funny, because the US was never mentioned, and Mexico didn't become a country until the US was well established.
So yeah, Gulf Of America IS Feasible.

Your thoughts?

I say let's let the other shoe drop as well. Change the name to Sea of America. The gulf of Mexico would then become the fifth largest sea. The gulf is almost entirely surrounded by the North American continent, so calling it America would make sense.

If the name gets changed, we would then know who named it. As of now, I can only find that it was named by Spanish explorers. Naming bodies of land/water/and new cities was usually a task of the Catholic priests who accompanied the explorers and who kept long and detailed records of everything, so not knowing who named it is a little strange. Or maybe I just didn't look long enough.

Anyway, put me down for a yes vote!

Trump's Sea has a ring to it.

Mexico has something to with the Aztek Indian tribes, Aztlan, if I spelled it correctly, and the Spaniards just essentially bastardized/shortened the name into Mexico, or Mehico.

But like you said, the Spaniards were naming bodies of water, so it really doesn't mean all that much, so if we decide that Americans want to call it a gulf named after the continent, there's not much anyone can say, like hyphenating black Americans by calling every black person African American.
The only way to stop it, is to quit using it, and for the record, I've never used it.

Back in the day it used to be called "the Spanish Lake"

The Panama canal is of strategic importance. China started buying up the Land in the Canal zone in the 80s and 90's secretly then openly after Clinton gave it away. We built it we own it..... Period. Re establishing American Military bases in the Canal Zone only makes security sense and sends a message to China

Greenland is also a strategic concern, We maintain Air bases there. Russia or China must be meddling in that place.

Kinda stupid but when we played the game "Risk" as a kid, we always tried to control and occupy Greenland as opponent forces controlling Europe would invade the North American continent thru Greenland.

Its all part of National Security and Border security especially the Gulf. But I see a lot of Trumps blustering as Psy Ops, sending a message to Hostile Countries that we are through being pushed around and taken advantage of. THE BOSS IS BACK IN TOWN.
