A123 Systems, an electric car battery company once touted as a stimulus "success story" by former Gov. Jennifer Granhom, D-Mich., has laid off 125 employees since receiving $390 million in government subsidies -- but is still handing out big pay raises to company executives.

"[T]he company has laid off 125 employees and had a net loss of $172 million through the first three quarters of 2011," the Mackinac Center for Public Policy reports, observing that the company's primary customer, Fisker Automotive, is also struggling financially. "Yet, this month A123's Compensation Committee approved a $30,000 raise for [Chief Financial Officer David] Prystash just days after Fisker Automotive announced the U.S. Energy Department had cut off what was left of its $528.7 million loan it had previously received."

This month has seen significant pay boosts for other A123 executives, as well:

Demand and supply?

Well we made the  :cursing:  thing where is that  :cursing:  Demand for them.  As a long time investor I will not invest in the Green Losers.

You realize this is is YOU supporting MY theory of Demand being more important than supply.

Thanks.

Actually the opposite. By using your economic model (which I am still waiting for you to produce for me) The green sector would not exist yet since there is no demand. yet we have one.

The company has laid off 125 employees
The company has laid off 125 employees, BUT still employs 700.

Are you saying that the government should MANDATE that people not be laid off?

Sounds like a prudent business person who adjusts his labor force to match his production needs.

Just no pleasing you cons.

I agree Boo, I think we should regulate CEO salaries, but this is the "free market America" and companies can do as they wish.

If the so called green sector was thriving then there would not be a need for government money. And the government should not be using taxpayer money to begin with.

QuoteAre you saying that the government should MANDATE that people not be laid off?

The government should not be mandating anything for any private company

if the company is strong enough to employ 700 people there should be no need for taxpayer money.

I never said that and they shouldn't. The government has no place in private business...

One must remember that the new economic model, AKA 1917 October Revolution is to give everyone a job, form bread lines and apply liberal does of propaganda.

These poor democrats are simply reconstituted communists who with the help of the media and an increasingly stupid public are finalizing the destruction of the American dream.

Unfortunately we have allowed this cancer to grow and consume us.

Hope for a revolution, hunting liberals and democrats would be quite fun.
