OOOOHHH That says it all.

What are you talking about? This is wind energy creating more jobs - so awesome. Someone has to pick up the dead birds. Maybe grind the dead, rotting birds into baby food - there's another job. But you wouldn't want to risk disease by feeding them to other animals. Goes with the Dim agenda: Hug the trees, save the whales, kill the baby humans.

I say it's a perfect example because it hits home, that the left could give a rats ass about the environment or God's creations.

That's a given. We've know this since Occupy: Wall Street...

All those leftist enviornmentalist were so concerned about Mother Earth Occupy LA alone left behind 30 tons of trash to be cleaned up on the taxpayer's dime.

Where were all those tree huggers then?

They've always been concerned about redistribution of wealth, your wealth.

Something is wrong with the notion of protecting the planet, but using resources which pollute, to create limited-lifetime vehicles & homes which sort-of-not-pollute.  The logic of this thinking - really does it.   Their electric and hybrid cars, which concentrate all kinds of hazardous elements into a small space, they think they're not causing pollution.... and saving the planet?

Uranium is all around us here, but it's not concentrated into a small space.   Nobody is glowing in the night.  Concentrate it, and it's deadly, like a lithium battery - it will kill you, if exposed to it.   If it's a choice between electrically charged Lithium powered or Gasoline/Diesel powered vehicles, on a safety & efficiency basis, Lithium loses just like uranium does.
All animals are created equal; Some just take longer to cook.   Survival is keeping an eye on those around you...

Not to mention, it can have the very same reaction without control, it generates heat when it fails which could burn your house down in the middle of the night, or combust on the highway.
Yeah, I'll take diesel any day.

Yeah, I'll take diesel any day.

Particularly if it is the same "bunker fuel" as the Great Lakes freighters use. Instead of about 14-15 parts per million for sulfur content, this low-grade refined petroleum offers a tasty 45,000 PPM. Try your nearest seaport for test amounts!

Yeah, essentially straight crude, smokier than a coal engine and just as powerful.
I had no idea there was any ship left in the US that was allowed to burn it. Pumped straight out of the ground as sweet crude and straight to the freighters.
I wish I could burn it, but all new diesel engines have catalytic systems that would clog as soon as it fired over.
Even new Cats are being forced into production, and older dozers are being forced to retrofit costing a third of what a brand new one goes for.

Sustainable ethanol from carbon dioxide?

June 19, 2017

Stanford University

A recent discovery could lead to a new, more sustainable way to make ethanol without corn or other crops. This promising technology has three basic components: water, carbon dioxide and electricity delivered through a copper catalyst.

Most cars and trucks in the United States run on a blend of 90 percent gasoline and 10 percent ethanol, a renewable fuel made primarily from fermented corn. But to produce the 14 billion gallons of ethanol consumed annually by American drivers requires millions of acres of farmland.

A recent discovery by Stanford University scientists could lead to a new, more sustainable way to make ethanol without corn or other crops. This promising technology has three basic components: water, carbon dioxide and electricity delivered through a copper catalyst. The results are published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

"One of our long-range goals is to produce renewable ethanol in a way that doesn't impact the global food supply," said study principal investigator Thomas Jaramillo, an associate professor of chemical engineering at Stanford and of photon science at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Scientists would like to design copper catalysts that selectively convert carbon dioxide into higher-value chemicals and fuels, like ethanol and propanol, with few or no byproducts. But first they need a clear understanding of how these catalysts actually work. That's where the recent findings come in.

When the price of Corn Flakes reaches $5 a box, someone finally figures out, "Hey man, we're starving people in poor countries by turning food into fuel!"   I applaud the effort, but the Iowa ethanol lobby won't like it.

Tell someone who cares!

Government intervention always has a chain reaction of undesired effects.

First they mandate ethanol production, the reaction, more corn is grown, less wheat - and it gets subsidized to boot.
Next, the price of corn skyrockets, but not for food, for ethanol production - still a shortage of wheat, creating artificial price increases for both wheat & corn.
Next, it's more difficult to export corn & wheat, the price is artificially too high.
Famines in less developed countries deepen for lack of US exports.

So, they cut off subsidizes for ethanol, and like magic, less corn is planted, more wheat - what was once profitable, no longer is.
Farmers are STUCK with ethanol brewing gear....  hmmm......  not for long!
An explosion in cheap White Lightning, genuine Corn Whiskey!
Franklin Co., Virginia Moonshiner's "Sugar Whiskey" can't compete against the 'real thing', and their families suffer.

The "bottom" falls out of Tennessee Whiskey - even Makers Mark gets as cheap as Mad Dog 20-20

Like an old Whiskey Barrel rolling down hill - ya can't stop it, government screwed 'em all again!  :tounge:

I blame those Global Warming nuts - they started this!  My story, and I'm stickin' to it!

Theoretically yes; but you forgot about the periods of cooling ... oh wait ... that would mean it's cyclical.
