Yeah, the more Trump campaigns on empty promises, the more his past exposes his hypocrisy. It's only a matter of time before his supporters see the truth, and when that truth finally sinks in, there WILL be an exodus for safety in a true Conservative.
Personally, I believe the longer Trump stays in the race, the better Cruz looks to the rest of the Right, while the rest of the field is desiccated..

Cruz must eventually come out with a plan to co-opt Trump's message without attacking him!

He has to take the wind out of Trump's sails.

Yep, and I think the next debate will be the turning point, where Cruz expands on the issues, in turn, usurping the Conservative agenda.

I agree.

He cannot afford to sit back and wait for Trump to implode.  Trump is in this for the long haul.   Like I heard him say a couple of days ago, "I'm not going anywhere."

We cannot expect Trump to drop out.

Don't expect Trump to be asked about jobs sent abroad.

Trump is doing a wonderful job of raising issues most candidates would not raise out of caution. What this does is allow the issues to float and see how they play. Trump has proven it is OK to be bold on the immigration issue. This allows a true conservative to take advantage of what Trump has done.

Trumps shine is already beginning the process of heavy patina, when Cruz speaks, the country will listen because they will be ready for an alternative to all the self immolation brought on by Trump's incessant braggadocio.

In short, Trump is imploding as we speak, in spite of the LSM propping him up.

Trump has not really reached the point of actually hurting any candidate except Bush..... which is great.

We are still over five months away from the opening salvo.  We have several debates between now and then.

It looks like an exciting pre-game show!

The managers are finding those disapproval numbers have been rigged, intentionally. They include Hillary and Sanders supporters. Bush supporters and the Washington Cartel have no question been told to get out there and sling the mud at every opportunity. That is the disapproval rate among GOP voters. Who cares what the Democrats or the entrenched think?

Trump's unfavorability rating is sky high. Overall, 59% of all registered voters have an unfavorable opinion of Trump, though that dips to 42% among GOP voters.

I have yet to understand how they can say this.  I have yet to receive one phone call about my opinion about Trump.

I did get a call about Common Core.  They hung up on me before I could get through having my say.  I am sure they were for it.

Its a kind of trap though. The other kids cant keep just trailing along saying, "Me too, me too!". On the other hand, anyone stepping out front cant speak as Trump does and get away with it.
It might be possible for someone like Cruz to walk alongside Trump polishing a more coherent narrative into a nice shiny luster that will serve to beckon the ADHD stricken when Trumps circus finally falls by the wayside with its wheels broken under the weight of its own inherent contradictions.

Agreed with that!  Without Trump taking arrows (or deflecting them...), well... it'd be kinda boring!
OK, he is doing a wonderful job of keeping Dem issues buried, like that crumbling infrastructure, low test scores, taxing every last penny from the job creators, pollution (the EPA owns that one!).  And Hellary vs Jeb.

It's buying time for us, costs us nothing, and has got the mainstream media tied up in knots!   :cursing:  If they want RATINGS - cover Trump!  Love it!  :ttoung: :ttoung: :ttoung: :ttoung: :ttoung: :ttoung: :ttoung:  Keep it coming!

That would be a fine thing, but you show me a time when American politics didnt involve at least a little showmanship, and Ill show you a clock with a blank face and no hands. It falls on the more intelligent of us to distinguish between act and actor. The finest president of my lifetime so far was an actor once.

Politics is packed with actors/frauds, but it's a rare occasion when one is a Statesman as well, as was Reagan.
Cruz so far, fits the mold of Statesman.
