Even the Democrat's own Public Policy Polling outfit finds that combined, Bush and Trump supporters now total 50% of the national vote. Trump has 27% and Bush has 23%. Here's the Breitbart take, and then the lede from the source itself.
QuoteA new poll shows that the combined polling support for the populist and establishment candidates in the GOP primary adds up to 50 percent of the electorate. That is sufficient to defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016–if the GOP's two wings can somehow rally all their supporters on election day.
The August 28-30 poll of 1,254 registered voters was conducted by Public Policy Polling, a firm which works for Democratic causes and candidates.
The firm's new poll shows that Donald Trump "would actually earn more support than Jeb Bush in a three way [2016] contest, getting 27% to Bush's 23%."
So if Bush can loyally rally his 23 percent in November 2016 to support Trump and his 27 percent, or vice versa, their combined votes add up to 50 percent of the national vote. That's not easy, and is maybe impossible, but for now, their combined support is 50 percent.

Objectively, the Breitbart writer who did the item above had to go
WAAAAAY down in the PPP report itself to get the information. Here's their opening, and the link to go find what Brietbart used as THEIR peg....
QuoteRaleigh, N.C. – PPP's newest national poll finds that Hillary Clinton generally holds modest leads over the Republican field for President, with Ben Carson faring the strongest among the GOP hopefuls.
Carson earns a tie with Clinton at 44%, and he actually leads Bernie Sanders 42/36 in a head to head. Carson is the only declared candidate with a positive favorability rating --- 41% of voters nationally see him positively to only 30% who have a negative opinion. He earns a tie with Clinton on the basis of a 43/35 advantage with independents.
The other candidates who come really close to Clinton are Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina, who are each down by just 2. Fiorina trails Clinton 45/43, and is down 39/38 to Sanders. Trump is down just 2 points as well at 46/44, and he leads Sanders 43/42. Interestingly Joe Biden actually does far better than both Clinton and Sanders against Trump, with a 6 point advantage at 47/41. Biden joins Carson as the second person with a positive rating in this poll at 43/40.

I like it when even the Donks' own outfit can't be any more enthusiastic about Our Lady of Perpetual Larceny™, a year away from that election.
That Breitbart part about the Establishment ever making nice with the real Republicans? Bah! Humbug! How can
any Tea Party member be taken seriously without serving 50 years rising within GOP ranks?
ROFL...They were actually able to eek out 50% support for Marxists amongst the LIV's eh?
Kind of exposes it right there, because in truth, 75% of the Nation is sick to death of both party's. Fascinating how they attempt to spin even the worst news into a statistical tie, all the while avoiding polling real voters.

That doesn't absolve the heavy breathing from that Breitbart writer, but the whole thing does expose a widespread public indifference to Our Lady of Perpetual Larceny™.
UPDATE: Ben Carson figures heavily into the PPP news release. For informational purposes, also see this CPF thread....

Without going through the poll myself, I'v noticed a trend.
Don't ask about Cruz. Yes, it's true, they have found a skillful way around supporting TEA and their choice of candidates.
Polster: "I'll read off some candidates running in 2016, please tell me which candidate running for office would you most likely vote for"
The list contained every candidate but Cruz, but never stated you weren't allowed to choose him either.
But what does the poll show? Cruz at 10%.
In truth, that's pretty impressive considering he wasn't even mentioned in a poll weighted Dim in a GOP primary election.

Never count unhatched chickens when time exists for politicians to get egg on their faces!

I read where one polling outfit claimed only top contenders were considered for polling.
Then went about systematically avoiding certain candidates, then claimed they didn't poll well.
Of course they didn't poll well, they didn't include them in the poll.
I swear, the electorate is sooo damned gullible when it comes to polling, never once challenging the internal metrics and versification that form an agenda, they merely take the chosen headline at face value..

Si, el jefe, although a good case can be made here for messages that last....

They are strangely quiet about Cruz. Seems like they think if they don't speak his name, he doesn't exist.

Exactly! To them it's akin to saying Beetlejuice three times in a mirror.

It is wishful thinking that Cruz will go away. So wrong. I will repeat, there is a silent majority out there just waiting to support a conservative.

Yep, we're just biding our time.

That's how the media "erases" an issue from the public eye, don't mention it. There's tidal wave of other news to quickly overwhelm the limited attention span of the people. Exercising access/control of the information. Que, Net Neutrality, it's coming next.
This morning I was able to sway a very influential person away from Ben Carson and toward Ted Cruz. He will influence many, many other people.
I counted it as a major success!!!
Sometimes we can influence people that we are reluctant to approach. So what if we fail? What have we lost? We must attempt every opportunity to influence everyone around us. That is how we win this election!!!
