Race, schmace. 80% of all prison inmates were raised in SINGLE-PARENT HOUSEHOLDS. Adjust your race figures for that factor and you'll find the numbers come out just about equal.
It's not melanin that causes crime and pretty much every other kind of societal rot -- it's the Welfare State. Black people just happen to be its biggest victim.

Well said and I agree in total.
Fair enough. This wasn't about the black populace being horrible criminals, but rather that the disproportionate populations of the black to white individuals masks the severity of black crime.
This is an Excel. Showing the rise of single parent families since 1980 for several countries. Its actually astonishing, the increase. Were crime solely a factor of being raised single parent we'd expect crime to have skyrocketed since 1980. And its not to say certain types haven't, but overall its remained fairly steady.

I agree that the welfare state is the problem. Crime rates are just a symptom of this problem imo.
Promoting irresponsible and non or counter-productive lifestyles is a recipe for exactly what we have now; ever-growing numbers of non-working single "mothers" who have 4 or more kids from 3 different "fathers" (these sperm donors are rarely, if ever, held financially responsible for the kids they take part in breeding). The system that allows this is nothing less than a taxpayer funded nation-wide house of prostitution.
This irresponsible welfare system does much to reward personal failure and criminal activity. Note: Those that work in the private sector risk the loss of their jobs and livelihood when accused, let alone convicted, of committing a crime. Welfare recipients, on the other hand, only risk the loss of their section 8 housing and various public assistance benefits if and when they receive a jail or prison sentence (most just hop back on the system after they're released).
This system, among other things, also promotes:
1. Law enforcement man-hours that are wasted on welfare funded repeat offenders.
2. Near total allegiance to the government from those who directly benefit and profit from the it.
3. Excessive and/or unearned profits for certain business entities that cater to consumers who do little or nothing for the financial means that the system gives them to spend (hospitals, grocery stores, and the entertainment industry make a fortune off of these people). This, of course, does much to negate the "checks and balances" of a truly capitalist economy.
4. Adult and childhood obesity rates that are rapidly over-taking smoking as the number 1 killer in America.
Btw, I remember when having a child out-of-wedlock was enough to cause women to leave town until after the child was born (in most cases these children were given up to adoption). This all came to end not too long after LBJ's Great Society programs started to take effect.
We now have single welfare mothers who are paid anywhere from about 600 to well over a 1000 dollars worth of extra cash and benefits per month for every single child they breed.
I thought prostitution was illegal until I found out about this nonsense during the late '80s.
