I knew McAwful was going to do something stupid last month when he was "considering" some gun control measures. But now he has screwed over Virginia residents who enjoy CCW reciprocity with two neighboring States such as NC and Tennessee. It doesn't impact me because I carry under HR 218, but it is going to impact a lot of those I know who travel to NC, Tennessee and (My home state) of Penna, doing business or just traveling.

Reciprocity is such a FUBAR when not under HR 218! I looked up the resolution and read it quickly. It appears that my wife, a retired law enforcement officer, must show qualification within the last 12 month period. I couldn't find if that meant she had to re-qualify at the range or something else. Do you know? I know she also is required to have her dept. I.D. with her as well.
One more liberal President in 2016 will mean the irreversible, eventual and total demise of our democracy. The rise and fall of democracy IS past the "apathy stage" at this moment. If this  momentum continues on its present path, restoration of democracy will require the least desired of actions.

They changed this a couple times to my knowledge, I was running back and forth from overseas when Bush passed this law and we had a hell of a time getting "our dept" (Wash DC metro police) to "qualify" us on the range, they flat out refused, so we got some local sheriff's deputy in Virginia to do it, then you had to submit paperwork and got some little card to carry, had to have your retirement badge and ID with you.

Now I understand you can go to any range officer licensed in your state and have him run you thru the course...you still got to carry the badge and retirement ID, I'll let you in on a little secret, the Badge and ID are good enough for most LEO's, but you always run the chance of running into Barney Fife who is a "book soldier" so best to do it right.

I go to the local Sheriff's dept here in Virginia whose deputies hunt on my land anyhow and they have their range officer run me thru during a slow period once a year.....

Thanks for the info, Billy.

For pheasant?  Nevermind.  I'd still have to transport canine-assistance, which McC also probably has problems with.

Why Tennessee and North Carolina... and not Kentucky and West Virginia?  -Something to do with Appalachian Trail-lands?  I get the sense the tri-State area is oddly 'policed'.

I think he has dedicated himself to one term...

I would tend to agree with you if I hadn't watched Obama pull off his 2nd term voodoo!

I think those were just two mentioned.  Last I read the list included like 12 or 14 "neighboring states".  I know SC is on the list too.
