Title: Chevron Bails On Calif.
Post by: Solar on August 03, 2024, 04:22:49 PM

Chevron said about 2,000 of its employees work in San Ramon at the moment and 7,000 are located in Houston.

CEO Mike Wirth and Vice Chairman Mark Nelson will make the move to Houston prior to headquarters relocation becoming official Jan. 1 to "co-locate with other senior leaders and enable better collaboration and engagement with executives, employees, and business partners," according to the company.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott celebrated Chevron's decision to relocate.

"Texas is your true home," he posted on X. "Drill baby drill."

The Houston mayor's office said on X that the move is "Great for Houston!"

Contributing to the company's move is likely California's lawsuit filed last year against five big oil companies, including Chevron, and an industry trade group over climate change. The state has also been leaning more into renewable energy policies.

I would like for a liberal to explain how hampering business's, especially those who provide energy which is needed for everyday life, helps society. How hampering business's which sell goods and services which the consumer wants, is good for society. How hampering business's by increasing their cost of operating to the point they have to hire less people to earn a wage, is good for society.

I know they can not justify any of those, but it might be good for a laugh to see them try.

No more politicians and lawyers in congress, we need businessmen.

Just another reminder that the concept of "unintended consequences" is foreign to the left.

Excellent questions...
I too have pondered such questions as of late. It's not like the past where the left was appeasing one group over another, or picking winners and losers.
You know, like the gas can nozzle crap and screwing with our ability to use a simple gas can without wasting half, that was using a monopoly of power to change the Mkt benefitting one person, while screwing over the taxpayer.

This is far more nefarious, this is worse than Mafia tactics of shaking down for protection money.
This is the pursuit of power, the ability to kill industries that refuse to bend to their will.

Nucelinni learned from Fuglosi, his evil aunt just how to manipulate through the example of punishment.

Thing is, it no longer works, Fuglosi is out of power as is the DNC, and Nucelinni no longer has the power of the party to back him.
This house of power is imploding globally and Gavin is looking like a complete fool on the world stage.

Thank Musk for exposing Gavin as a hollow puppet!

There are some things in life that are so simple they work, such as the old gas cans. Only with great effort could the left screw that up.     Now they come with some kind of damn screen ON THE INSIDE which makes them impossible to fill with out spilling gas and diesel all over the place.

I picked up some of the old spouts and vent caps off Amazon. Sure cut down on the cussing. Imagine, had to buy new old fashion parts to make it work better, like it used to.

Exactly!
They claimed it was a safety issue, that it would help the environment. That was all a lie!
I remember when it all started here in Ca, it was all about helping a DNC donor make money on a new product no one wanted or needed, but a quick law change would make him billions.

This is politics in a nutshell, both party's politics, because both are involved in investing in this new product.
We all know it as insider trading, for them, it's business as usual.
