This is an interesting article. Knowing the deep hole CS was in this quick recovery seems quite spectacular. It is stated this was accomplished by significant cuts and higher taxes. I just know that a state controlled by dems has a difficult time with cuts. I wonder if this is "smoke & mirrors" accounting.
Any folks with a better knowledge of the situation in CA have anything to add?
I live here, and believe me, people are stupid and will fall for this outright lie.
Numbers never lie, it's those working the numbers that lie, and boy did they work them...

For some reason I am not surprised "Moonbeam" is not exactly correct.
Thanks.
I think Moonbeam, as well as CNBC are smoking weed. What a bunch of morons.
Read the "conga line" article in the related links at the bottom of the page. They turn right around and say that CA is screwed.
Dummies!
Cali going broke doesn't concern me. Nor does all those other blue states going broke - even though I live in one. What does concern me - especially with that left wing idiot in Washington - is how more and more red states are reporting surpluses. So how long do you think it will be before "Obozo and the Blues" attempt to raid their treasuries - and set off our second Civil War?

As long as it takes the liberals to flee those states to the red states, and to start voting in the liberal government they fled from, destroying the red states.

We got a republican, ( hopefully conservative), governor. Priority #1 looks like paying the feds back the $2 billion we were forced to borrow from them for extended unemployment payments. We need strong governors that are willing to tell Washington to screw off. There should be no money stolen to bail out blue state idiots. Texas is solid red, and a state that needs to get it's financial house in order.
Having financially sound, conservative minded red states, is the best way to prove that libs are morons.

At what point do you believe that a majority of the people in the blue states will suddenly develop enough get up and go to move to the red states. And since the these states prosperity is often based upon industries like oil and gas, how many liberals do you think are prepared to start over as "roughnecks" in an energy field somewhere?

Typically, the way libs roll, is to leave the blue states to avoid paying crushing taxes...............move to red states, and start demanding all of the government crap they used to have. Doggie parks, bicycle paths, nature areas, beautiful parks for the kids, greenways, non-polluting buses, rules against smokers, increased police protection, more unqualified teachers................
They are incapable of understanding that these things cost money, and money comes from taxes. Idiots!!!
Maybe they minted a trillion dollar coin

Oh you mean how they vote for higher taxes, then when they have to pay more they scream, cry and holler then run for the red states. What did the government run schools do to Americans?

Govt and Free? That's like saying Tony Soprano you a favor and asked for nothing in return.
Everyone pays garbage service, whether it's private, city, county, you either pay for it outright or through taxes, but there is no such thing as free city anything.

My property tax bill lists out the percentages that are going to every village, town, county, and state expense.

Mine is rather vague, but suffice it to say, 90% goes to the school district, we pay garbage through a private interest.
And believe me, the garbage service is by far better managed.
