Why was this man even alive, let alone, out of jail after doing only 17 years for murder?! (It says "manslaughter" however, I'm assuming you don't accidentally kill your grandmother with a hammer!)

Because as the politically correct society would say he as mental issues is all and he was rehabilitated. But when they are wrong it gets buried by the MSM. Ah to be a liberal.
