Title: Bolton For POTUS?
Post by: Solar on September 25, 2010, 04:48:36 PM
What do you think of John Bolton running for the office?
I really don't know much about him other than when he was chewing ass at the UN.
The man has some balls, and that alone makes me sit up and take notice.

QuoteDuring recent appearances on Fox News, Bolton has been asked whether he would run for president. "Well, you know it's a great honor when people ask me that question, and I have been asked that question," Bolton said on Wednesday. "I don't think anybody involved with politics should worry about that until after the elections this fall."

Don't get me wrong. I like Bolton and dig his style, but this guy has zero chance of being president. Michel Bolton will be president first.

Guys with mustaches like that just don't become president.

Not comparable. Tom Selleck's mustache has maybe half the total volume of Bolton's. It's huge. It's imposing. It's hypnotic.

He does need to shave that thing.

Are you kidding? They'll have to shoot that thing with a tranq gun before they get too close. That little guy is fierce.

I would make a nice rug out of it.

They're elusive but they are prized for their pelts. I hear they make beautiful coats.

Bolton would be an incredible President, but he has no chance.  He's too honest, too blunt, and too in-your-face, which is EXACTLY what this country needs in a leader.

Those are the exact qualities I like about the guy, but you're right, he hasn't a chance, but he could follow up with a Senate seat or something.

I think his ideal spot would be secretary of state.

I agree. I want a secretary of state who first and foremost is an advocate of the interests of citizens of the USA.

Tom, definitely yes, Bolton definitely no.  Dang, Tom looks good today.  Watched him in "Blue Bloods".  He still hasn't lost it (his charm).  Also mr crepe has a mustache, so I can't vote "no" on mustache grounds.

However, personality wise, Bolton doesn't have it.

Now you're talking. Foggy Bottom hated him---reason enough to bring in more just like him and air out that nest of treason-artists.

If I were President then I would hire him as secretary of state and give him the following mandate. Within my first term I would want to cut the state department by 50%, cut our annual UN conribution by 50% and cut our foreign aid by 50%. with bigger cuts to come in the second term of course. And inuimk Holton is just the man to do it and just the man to sell itto the American people too.

That's what I like about the guy, when he says no, he means it, and when given an order, he follows it at personal political expense.

And on top of that, Tom Selleck is an avowed CONSERVATIVE!  One of the few in Hollywood who have "come out of the closet" and admitted to NOT being a lefty moonbat.  Other Hollywood conservatives include James Woods, Jerry Bruckheimer, James Caan, Wilfred Brimley, Stephen Baldwin (take THAT, Alec!), Clint Eastwood, Tom Clancy, Kelsey Grammer, and many more.

Anything or anybody other than a leftist socialist democrat running for office is an improvement. Bolton would sort of be a one trick pony, he would be anti UN and anti EU, both good points.

What heck, I'd vote for him.

Actually I listened to Bolton on a Fox show this weekend and he said some stuff that bothered me a bit. I think he favors a more active foreign policy along the lines of GWB. I'm keeping an open mind at this point, but that leaves open some possiblities that bother me.

I want an old style conservative who cuts our international footprint. Keep the military at a force level that allows us to kick ass when needed, but not sacrifice huge amounts of American blood and treasure on geopolitical issues that aren't directly related to our safety and well being.
