I've only been here a short while but have taken a lot of shit for deigning to offer support to Trump.

Truth be told he's nowhere near my ideal candidate.  I'm only supporting him because it looks like he will be the nominee and I will vote for him in Nov if it means stopping Hillary.

I know everyone on here is crazy for Cruz.  My first choice was Rand Paul.

I'm curious how you all feel about Rand even though he's dropped out.  Could you have supported him?

I like Rand. While I can understand where he is coming from, I dont necessarily agree with his extreme hard stance regarding privacy though. Such as an example, I am inclined to believe that Rand does/would side with Apple regarding the San Bernadino attackers phones. I, on the other hand, believe that the phones need to be opened up but the proper legal procedures need to be taken to have that done.

Many of us were Rand Paul fans.  When he decided to align with McConnell, that's when the support ended.

Trump is a lib, and anyone claiming Conservative or LIBertarian status then state they support Trump, is either a complete idiot, liar, or just discovered politics, ie. kid.

As to Rand, this forum used to back him, but then he turned traitor and joined the enemy.
Sure, it's politics and even that is excusable, but as a man, he down right sucks. He comes off as a spoiled brat that believes he is somehow better than those that elected him, his temper tantrums and inability for humility removes any credibility of a man pursuing a position as leader of the free world.

Neither he nor Trump have the temperament needed to be in the WH.
Just look at Trumps reaction to the Pope, then look at his response at the Townhall. A POTUS measures his response, he bides his time and responds appropriately.
Trump is like a spoiled, dissed preteen that just lost phone privileges.

I could have supported him IF I believed him and IF he had some semblance of leadership charisma...someone who has the power to rally and fire up the people. Paul is missing something for me. I don't know if he is able to work with the other side either. I think there's a deficit in his personality for POTUS material, and can't quite place my finger on it. I'm a Trump supporter as well, (used to be a toss-up between him and Rubio) and have taken much heat for it here. The man is no angel, by any means. He's quite the ass actually-which I like right about now. No PC in that man. But I believe he is will accomplish a job at hand and not sit back on political haunches while the country crumbles around him. Don't worry, there are millions Trump supporters who want to be PC and fail to publicly admit their following...a silent majority I truly hope. Hope to see you at the polls. I'll be the one wearing a bleach-blonde Trump hairpiece!

I get what you're saying about Rand Paul.  I didn't find him charismatic or engaging either, just right on the issues.  I agree with you about Trump though about the whole silent majority thing.  Don't say anything good about Trump too loudly around here though.  Apparently he's viewed worse than Obama in these parts.  odd.
