This same question came up in another forum I post in. I would say (and this is merely a guess based on 12+ years AD) that 75-80% of the military would consider themselves conservative, or at least center republicans. There are very few liberals in the military. Part of the oath I took was to follow the orders of the POTUS and the officers appointed above me...but the other part is to defend the Constitution. If it came down to it I would defend the Constitution and ignore the orders given. If civil war ever did occur and the military was ordered to confiscate civilian weapons and fire on those resisting (which I believe is highly unlikely), there would be massive waves of AWOL cases to deal with.

Well, can all those ordered to be shot prove they are Liberals? Just kidding but I had to say it! Just let us get rid of like 5%. They are a scared and cowardly group a message like that will eliminate the problems with this country. Hahaha not serious in anyway no need to fip out. Hahaha
