Some of the earliest statements from Boner, right after he was first elected to Congress, he was a real fighter, reformer, gonna shake things up and FIX the House.
They either "got something on him", or "set him up" or "had a video of him in a compromising position" - something had to have happened to FLIP him, IMO. Who Boner is now, is not the same person.
I'm just stunned he came out of hiding - maybe he's broke & needs the money?

"If Boehner's financial situation hasn't changed significantly, there are millions at stake," said Greenfield. "Defeating Republicans in 2020 and 2022 would be in his financial interest."

Still looking for the original John Boehner... the firebrand that was elected to Congress, who was gonna bring REAL reform, budget control, etc. At one time, he was clearly on "our side". He got worn down, and turned into something, unrecognizable to me in later life. It's SAD!
