Drudge has an article that says the pilots were shot after ejecting.

"Both of the pilots were retrieved dead. Our comrades opened fire into the air and they died in the air," Alpaslan Celik, a deputy commander in a Syrian Turkmen brigade said near the Syrian village of Yamadi as he held what he said was a piece of a pilot's parachute.

Oops, Russia gets a taste of it... 

From lost pilots to lost million-dollar aircraft.   I'm guessing that Russian jets won't be flying upsidedown alongside Turkish jets anytime soon, with Russian pilots taunting and showing-off... like they do with some other Country I'm vaguely familiar with.

Wow, I just saw the map Turkey put out with the planes path.

It barely went over Turkey, people are saying less than 10 minutes of flight time.  Turkey ain't messing around.

I was thinking about that too.  They've gotten away with it here and in Europe.  Guess they miscalculated when Turkey warned them about not getting into their air space.
