BREAKING: Alfie Evans Has Died
Alfie Evans, the toddler caught in a legal battle between his parents and the British National Health Service, has passed away.

Tom Evans, the father of the 23-month-old child, announced the news on Facebook, saying he passed away at 2.30am.
"My gladiator lay down his shield and gained his wings at 02:30," he wrote. "I love you my guy."
Kate James, Alfie's mother, wrote: "Our baby boy grew his wings tonight at 2:30 am. We are heart broken. Thank you everyone for all your support."
Alfie suffered from a rare neurological disease and Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool had declared him terminally ill, beyond the hope of recovery. A judge had ruled in February that the hospital could stop providing treatment, against the wishes of his parents. Alfie's life support machines were turned off on Monday, but he had continued breathing on his own for several days.
His parents had been fighting in court to take him to Italy for an experimental treatment, but were denied, even though all costs would have been paid by donations and Italy had even granted citizenship to the young boy to facilitate his entry into the country.

The Death panel decided it was in the Childs best interest to die. I am still trying to comprehend such 'logic'. Pay attention one day Obamaocare will echo this insanity. Shame Shame Shame Shame Shame.

It's odd, everyone understands it, some even live with the tradeoff, but what's really sad is, libs don't even grasp the simple concept that there is a limit to govt care, as well as built in face saving rules that keep people from seeking care on their own. (Can't take the child for cure abroad and humiliate our Govt socialized medicine)
This case is a perfect example of the limits a govt will set when it comes to saving the life of a child. The really weird part is, had he fallen in a well, there'd have been no limitations set on his rescue, no monetary amount would be capped as the world watched as they tried to save his life, then one innocent human life suddenly becomes important.
Aren't liberals fickle?

What do you expect from the party that supports, encourages, promotes and makes a profit from Govt funded abortions? The ghouls in planned parenthood would have a field day with future little Alfie's, deciding who gets what organs before he's even gone.

I expect nothing less from the liberal party, I keep hoping for more from the ones who vote for them. Glad I stopped beating my head against the wall on that one.

The truly ironic thing about these incidents (And you can bet they are not limited to the two small children publicized so far) is the primary reason for switching to a socialized health care system is because it's supposed to take money out of the equation of health care.
How many times have we heard about the travesties of the rich getting better care than the poor, and the "evils" of profit-driven health care systems? But when socialized care does come into play, it only devolves into government refusing treatment - in fact going so far as to deny people the right to even seek treatment - for those the nanny state has determined are not economically sound to try and save.
In a just world, every person from this point forward who espouses a government run, single payer health care system should be whacked along side the head with a large, solid object with the image of Alfie on it.
Shame on you England, shame on you........while you celebrate the newborn baby prince you put to death a baby born to a commoner.
