I think the NYT does not wish to lose their heads.

Exactly.  There's more than one reason the NYT's is called "Yellow" journalism.  They're also cowards.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

My observation is that Pope Benedict was run out of office by the rabid left wing. It has been alleged by many sources that the communists in the Vatican are flexing their power in many ways. The Obama connection would be hard to overlook.

So, what did they get?  A Jesuit social activist from South America pushing the anti-industrial "sustainable" agenda; i.e. the global governing body. The penny that has not yet dropped is that sustainable development is aimed at stopping this "nonsense" of lifting the world's mass out of poverty and misery. Wouldn't you think the Pope would be all for that? Funny thing, that.

So, there is an opinion of why the NYT jumped on board. Dumping Benedict was a left wing project. NYT is there.
