Title: IKEA Says Supply Chain Issues Forcing Them to Raise Prices
Post by: Solar on January 01, 2022, 09:59:19 AM

In Other Words, "We're Selling Chinese Crap at Higher Prices"...

Just a sampling of what IKEA considers "wood".

"Unfortunately now, for the first time since higher costs have begun to affect the global economy, we have to pass parts of those increased costs onto our customers," IKEA's Retail Operations Manager Tolga Öncü said in a statement.

"IKEA had previously said it was leasing more ships, buying containers and re-routing goods between warehouses to mitigate supply chain disruptions but said it was now having to pass the costs onto customers, as it expected the turbulence to continue."

Thank God! I've been casting about for a good reason to not drive 40 miles to buy Chinese particle board "furniture" at the nearest IKEA outlet.

That video is priceless!

I don't mind putting my "furniture" together. I DO mind when the store that sells me Mrs. Tbone that cheap third-world crap puts on airs and pretends to be Scandinavian and therefore oh-so-cool.

      Nailed it! I went into one of their stores years ago, after checking out, they wanted to charge me for a damn plastic bag to put their cheap crap in. Instant refund! Walked out empty handed. Best purchase I never made.

If you don't buy Ikea furniture, how will you build your collection of Allen wrenches?
