If I was President of the United States of America

I was thinking about what is wrong with America.  Its Liberalism.  Yes it true.  Everything that festers has its roots in Liberalism.  If I was the President I would begin to respect America and Americans.  I would do away with the self hate that is so common.  We need to lift each other up.  Build up American and restore pride.

To start off welfare.  Think of it as a tree with roots in Liberalism.  This is the fruit it bears:  Drug addiction, generational dependency and poverty, desperation and crime of all sorts.  Most probably depression.  No self respect or feeling of accomplishment.  No desire to really live.

I also believe that it is the root of social inequality.  It is the root of riots and racism.  All of those things listed above breed hate.  I don't want to hear we can't or we won't.  I want to invest in Americans.  And let me tell you it will be a lot cheaper than the current welfare system.

When you look at the recent riots you think why do those people want to destroy their city?  I think I can see the answer.  They don't believe they have a part in it.  They only exist.  It doesn't matter at the end of the day because they don't work there.  They aren't invested in their community.

Liberals want us to believe that they are the sympathetic and caring.  That isn't caring to see a family stuck in generational poverty.  To see one generation after another not think of themselves with enough respect to want to accomplish anything in life.  To work in a job in their own city.  Its like a drug addiction only its a government addiction.  We don't even try to wean them off.

I was thinking if I was President I would do great things for Americans.  I would stop illegal immigration because we have workers that will do anything.  Isn't that the argument that Illegals do the jobs that no Americans want to do?  Why are we paying people who are fully capable to work to sit and do nothing?  They could do any job that illegal immigrants do.  Even the ones without educations or job experience.  And we can give Americans all the benefits that illegal migrant workers get.  If I was President I would make it clear that in America we have workers and pride.  The statement that illegals do the work Americans don't want to do says that we are so dumb that we pay people to sit on their butts when there is plenty of work!

We could increase job training and make GED courses available in our cities.  Free of cost.  If you don't pass GED you don't receive welfare any longer.  If you get fired from your job you will be subject to a government review.  The same process any worker is given to get unemployment. We could open child care centers so that mom can work.  Affordable child care according to wages and benefits the family is receiving.  People that are able would not be excused from work.  If they can't do the migrant work they should be in GED classes or job training.  They should be working in the food banks or pulling weeds at the public education properties.  Cleaning up garbage in our parks.  Working in our training centers.  There are so many jobs to do!

Every single farmer should have people available to work or there shouldn't be any welfare in their town.

Now about education.  We have public education.  It shouldn't be any different depending on where you live.  Every school needs to have the best teachers.  Every child needs to have the best education.  And it shouldn't be social engineering.  It should be preparing our children for success not welfare.  No child left behind and really mean it.  No inequality in education depending on what neighborhood you live in.  Live in the city you get the same education as the rich suburb.  No exceptions or loose funding and give money to parents for private education for their child.

Secondly on education.  No more government money for our colleges if we still have to increase H1-b visa's.  If they aren't educating Americans for success what are we paying for?  And why should our children have years of student debt if foreigners are more desirable to employers

Lets encourage Americans.  Lets lift them up and let them know that they can make a living.  That we care about them enough to invest in their future.  Not give them a handout until the next check.  Lets get Americans back to work and quit telling the funky lies that Americans can't or won't do any job.

Plenty Americans to do the work in America.  We just need to learn how to put our people to work not welfare.  Every single person without a health disability is capable.  Every single person!  Even handicapped people are capable.  Just have to find the right job to fit every situation.  We pay government workers.  We should expect them to get to work finding jobs. We should require farmers to pull from the pool of American's out of work.  Or cut their farming subsidies.  If a migrant can pick an apple so can a American.

That's a great post, CD.  You probably should be in some level of public-service someday.

You'd garner unknown amounts of voters if you can also shrink the Government-bureaucracies.  The trouble is framing it in the form of an election-promise.

Other than Cruz, we don't know if any candidate would have a view similar to yours, because of the cynically low believability-factor of a promise.

Yes it would be hard to make a campaign promise of that.  Reason being that we have grown government dependency so huge that it seems impossible.  But it isn't.  I just was really pondering the things that took place this summer with all of the riots.  All Obama did was encourage it.  I truly believe that if people got off of government assistance and became a part of their community their perspectives would change.  Its the same in a workplace.  If you allow everyone to participate and you value people they value the company.

You know what CD this is what I'm talking about.   You provide concrete solutions and as a person with Aspergers on SSDI I would love to have your platform put into effect.   I as a disabled person need your type of platform desperately.   I believe I can contribute but I would need help to do so especially in the social aspect.

Truth is Solar's right.  People need to be working and they need challenges.   We as humans evolved that way.   To idle a man is to slowly kill him physically and mentally.

You would have my vote.

Thank you,

I wish I was running!  That is it.  People are dying from being idle.  They are merely existing.  I am sure that takes a toll on mental and physical well being.  Not only that people that don't work can become secluded.  Believe me I have no education to make medical assumptions but I would think that they would become isolated and desperate.  You can only imagine what that kind of life breeds.

I would like to hear something like this with the candidates.  Mere words about putting Americans to work.  No we need a comprehensive plan to make real change in America.

BTW- I worked for a company which employed people with disabilities.  We had a blind guy.  We had several with Down Syndrome.  Some mildly Mentally Retarded.  We had a paralyzed guy.  Greatest workers ever.

Well, if you can run then run.  Yes, I can vouch for what you're talking about.   I confirm what you say.  What it brings is a darkness in one's soul because one thinks, thinks and thinks especially all the negative crap.

CD, I agree that you have a great platform on jobs and work mandates.  We have had that upside down for a long time!!

However, I would argue for the government to get out of the business of education.  They have proven themselves to be inadequate for the job.  When has government run anything well?

I believe in a voucher program that would be utilized at private schools.  There is nothing more proficient than competition.  We would have the smartest students in the world within a generation.

In reality, the government is no better equipped to handle welfare.  The very best solution to this is charitable organizations and churches.  However, we should at least relegate the safety net to the States.  They would be required to fund their own welfare programs with their own taxes, not federal taxes.  This would really put the crush on liberal States like California.  There is no way they could fund their giveaway programs without Federal assistance.  I am tired of conservative States funding liberal States.

So, it is probably best that I not be President.   I would throw a wrench in the entire operation!!   :scared:

Well you got my vote.

You know the main difference I see today vs my generation and how we were brought up?

WORK ETHIC....Americans seem to have lost it.

As a high school kid I would have loved to have had aseasonal job like apple picking...outdoor work, camping out at night around a fire...seeing deer and wildlife in the Penna/West Virginia/Virginia orchards driving 4x4's around.....But try and get some kid today into doing that....couldn't stand being away from a computer or out of cell phone range.

Some years ago they had these programs where they took..."inner city troubled youths" out into Montana, Idaho etc and had them working on cattle farms, horse ranches and such. Surprising number of turnarounds. From personal experience I am a great beleiver in getting "troubled youth" out of their bad environment and into something totally alien as a way of rehab.

The other thing I'd like to mention is Illegals are taking a lot of UNION jobs from Americans...that is one reason why Trump is so pro deportation...his union pals are pushing for that.

The farmer in back of me has about 300 acres of apples 4 varieties.   The picker take home about 1 case a night when picking.  He finds if a pickers is happy they will come back next years for him.
