How come when JFK was assassinated and when Reagan was shot by John Hinkley nobody blamed the guns ?
James Baker was shot with Reagan and was wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. He and his wife fought HARD for gun control afterwards.

JFK's assassination was the reason for initial gun control measures. I was around in 1963, ironically I went hunting with my Father right after the assassination, when we came home we learned that Jack Ruby Killed Oswald. I also recall the day when the "Omnibus crime control act" was passed and I could no longer buy 22 ammo,shotgun shells or go down to the Army Navy store and buy a military surplus rifle packed in cosmoline since 1918 in time for deer season. All of a sudden mail order guns were outlawed and you had to answer some idiotic "questionaire" to buy a new hunting rifle or shotgun IE Registration. I recall my Father and my Uncle (Staunch Democrats) saying "What the hell is that SOB JOhnson trying to pull here?" The firearms we owned had been in the family for sometime (1920's-30's) we weren't about to "register" them.
Since then it has been nothing more than creeping obiesity on the 2nd. The reagan shooting was a big push to ban handguns...the "assault weapon" of the day.
well, for one thing, the dems, libs, & communists were quite thrilled that Reagan had been shot.
If they could be sure that guns would only be used on conservatives, they would love them and flood America with them.
Their beliefs are incredibly flexible as long as they are getting their way somehow.
