I am going to say upfront I DO NOT support a 15 dollar minimum wage.

I will say I DO believe in the concept of a minimum wage (but not such a drastic increase). I believe the actual intent of minimum wage was an effort to control hiring practices and not to actually provide a living wage.  I will say with the influx of illegal labor the intent was not entirely successful.

The low skill worker has contributed nothing to the startup or ongoing cost of the business and has no risk. He simply showed up and exchanged unskilled labor for a wage. Higher wages will only drive outsourcing and automation. If the wage is set artificially high then better educated and skilled workers will take those jobs. Raising the minimum wage does not work because it causes a "market reset". Minimum wage jobs were never meant to support a family or become a career.

In my opinion our ridiculous welfare laws have enable these "careers". If anything needs to be reformed it is not minimum wage, it is out of control welfare.

Why should a business invest in you when you won't even invest in yourself?

Oh.  The thread-title looks like it alludes-to an obscure software offer.
