This is huge, we have a 51/49 split in the senate. A election will probably result in a 50/50 split. If memory serves, which is a long shot, the republicans would then get to pick their committee members. With the way the left is losing, it would make it very hard to push their agendas.

Hope the public realizes, had the democrats left this man alone, he would probably still be walking around recovering.
