Every Conservative here will tell you "There Is No Such Thing As An unloaded gun"!
And why in the fuck was there live ammo on the set? Stupid liberals!!!!
Criminal charges ARE on the table in Alec Baldwin shooting case, say prosecutors - as it emerges crew were using actor's gun to shoot cans with live ammo just HOURS before tragic death on set
Criminal charges are on the table in fatal accidental shooting by actor Alec Baldwin on set of a western film
Legal documents revealed Baldwin was pointing gun at a camera during a rehearsal on the Santa Fe set
It then fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza, papers state
Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies insisted criminal charges have not been ruled out
Affidavits containing statements state that Baldwin was handed a prop gun and told it was unloaded
The weapon was one of three prop guns that film's rookie armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, had set up

It sounds like the prop person was negligent. I don't necessarily find Alec completely completely at fault.

Man Slaughter if anything. After all, he did pull the trigger.
If you picked up a gun you assumed unloaded and killed someone, who is culpable?

The person responsible is the one who pulled the trigger, basic gun safety. Had Alec known as much about guns as he claims he knows, he would have checked to see if it was loaded. I understand "Hollywood" has their own way of doing things, but the person pulling the trigger is responsible for what happens afterwards.

Irresponsible handling of the firearm goes more for the prop person. He should have checked and instructed who ever holds it. Alec's intent was not to shoot anybody on purpose.
Which is why I asked about props. I always thought they are fake, or at least disabled to never fire again.

From my experience they are, or disabled as to not actually shoot projectiles.
The fact that they were shooting them earlier says otherwise, and Baldwin should have known better.
But the fact remains, he pulled the trigger, end of story.

I will add another possibility. There was a labor dispute and some crew members had walked off the site. It is possible a disgruntled member setting this up.

If so, that member knew safety rules were not in effect, or was one of those in charge of doing the inspection. Kinda ironic but the best way for Alec to hammer gun safety to the masses would be if he is found guilty and given a long sentence.

I heard that bounced around as well, though I haven't seen any proof as of yet. But more than likely it was a case of nepotism.
Hollyweird is incestual as Hell, so it doesn't come as a surprise either way.
When I was still connected to the industry, those who worked in the background were very professional, took their work as seriously as a surgeon.
Be it props or lighting to cameraman, these guys were extremely reliable, but that was the 80s and we all know how far the left has fallen since then.
