Here's a link to an article. According to which some refugees say that they were attacked by the governmental army with the only reason. Bashar al-Assad wanted all them flee to other countries that's why he started the "crisis".
It seems hardly believable to me. What could be the real reason of such actions?

Consider the source of your information.
No dictator wants fewer minions under his control.
ISIS is causing the instability in the region.
These secular Arab leaders are the best the Arab world can do. They rule with an iron fist, but under their rule, Christians (and to some degree, Jews), live relatively peaceful lives. The problems begin when a Muslim theocracy takes root.
Smart boy...Assad is doing what Mexico is doing, sending away all their unwanted theives, crooks and rebels to the US while holding their families economic hostage.
Assad is cleaning house and likely holding on to family members in hopes that any "refugee's" will pour money back into Syria that he can take his cut from. AT the same time ridding himself of any 'rebels' or threats to his regime.....or not....he knows very well that they will milk dry Germany and other European countries of every EUro they can.

A lot of these countries have different religious sects. Assad is a type of Shia Muslim, called Alawis. He is supported by Iran, also Shia. There was a lot of revolutionary types, Sunni's, that started protests against the government, became violent and even killed several in government. Then the civil war was on. ISIS, Sunni, and other groups took advantage of the chaos there.
A lot of these people fleeing, are getting it from all sides, the rebels, the terrorist groups and the government. The war has been going on for four years. The country is pretty much a failed state, a no mans land.
