Title: Alec Baldwin Shot The Prop Gun That Killed A Crew Member
Post by: Solar on October 22, 2021, 07:05:50 AM

The asshole finally did it! :glare:

Alec Baldwin "discharged" the prop gun that killed a cinematographer on the set of a movie he was filming in New Mexico, authorities said Thursday night.

Halyna Hutchins, the 42-year-old director of photography for the movie Rust, was pronounced dead from the injury at the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she had been flown, the Santa Fe sheriff's office said.

The film's director, Joel Souza, was also injured, the sheriff's office added. He was being treated for his injuries as authorities investigate.

"No charges have been filed in regard to this incident. Witnesses continue to be interviewed by detectives," the sheriff's office said.

It's unclear how the incident occurred, but the sheriff's office said deputies were dispatched at around 1:50 p.m. to the Bonanza Creek Ranch movie set regarding a report of someone being shot on set.

"According to investigators it appears that the scene being filmed involved the use of a prop firearm when it was discharged. Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was discharged," the statement added.

Baldwin is listed as a coproducer on the film, playing infamous Old West outlaw Harland Rust.

I don't know about movie props, but should they be discharging anything?

I've been in several movies, and all props are just that, props, dead weapons.
This was no accident.

My question would be - Why the cinematographer and director?  My logic would figure it would be a fellow actor from the scene.

Maybe she rejected him or had an affair that went sour???

I'd venture she was a Conservative on a leftist set.

Let's be honest: some of these Hollywood people need to face death for ruining the classics.

This was no accident.

There should be somebody responsible for monitoring all guns and ammo on the set.

In addition, each actor should be trained in proper gun handling,
and should check the gun to be sure there are only blanks in it.

The only time there should be live ammo in the gun is if
the shooter and the target are in the same frame being filmed.

This is at least a crime of negligence, and possibly malice.

Who put live ammo in the gun?

Was the gun discharged while filming or not filming?

There are a lot of questions to be asked.

Bottom line, whoever is pulling the trigger, in life or in a movie, is the one responsible for what comes out. Would have taken Alec less than five seconds to check.

https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/10/legal-analysis-alec-baldwin-situation-beginning-to-look-a-lot-like-manslaughter/

QuoteToday I'd like to share with some updated legal analysis of the Alec Baldwin on-set shooting of Halyna Hutchins, a 42-year-old mother and the director of cinematography for Baldwin's in-production Western movie "Rust." Ms. Hutchins, tragically, died as a result.  (Also injured by the shot was director Joel Souza, who survived.)

Spoiler:  The more we learn about the facts of this case, within the context of New Mexico criminal law, the more this shooting looks increasingly like a crime—specifically, felony involuntary manslaughter.  So, today let's explore that possibility in further detail.

If a gun that's loaded with blanks
is fired at the weak area upside the head,
just the gas pressure can cause major skull/brain damage.

Alec Baldwin has been an outspoken opponent of gun ownership.
He just demonstrated that, like most such opponents,
he knows very little about guns and their proper handling.

That, and his "popularity" has gone to his head.
(There's a lot of that in Hollywood.)
His whole life seems to be one long ego trip.
He thinks he's above everything.  Rules don't apply to him.
Rules are for "little people."  (Not midgets.  Regular people.)

His ego led him to engage in reckless behavior
in many ways, not just with guns.
That's why the crew walked out on him.

On a set, with lots of people around,
there's supposed to be an armorer,
to keep all guns accounted for at all times.
A gun should not be allowed to just "float around"
with so many people around.

The gun was in Alec's hand.
He had the duty to check and make sure it had only blanks in it.
The executive producer of this movie project
needed to run a tighter ship.
Oh wait, that's also Alec Baldwin.

They want you to believe they're the real victims here? What about the real victims family?
This is a total slap in the face of Halyna.
