I think Salem is correct. And I believe Obama is the devil in human form. Aren't God and the fallen angel always at odds? If Obama is the devil, doesn't that exempt him from any justice or mercy exacted by God? Obama is the antithesis of human.
BTW, I think Jimmy Carter was a useless President but a very benevolent, caring human being...with a brother who was probably a great guy, but sucked in the beer business. :wink:

Angels and humans are two distinctly different entities. Humans can be possessed by an evil angel but they are not the same entities.
Gabriel is a good archangel. He would not have possessed Hitler. Michael is also a good archangel.

Yes, I do believe that angels can take on human form. However they cannot take MY form. They can appear as humans but they are NOT humans. They can fool us into believing that they are human.
Many men have seen angels. It is well documented in the scriptures.
But they are not the same as any human created by God. Angels who appear as humans do so only temporarily. Then they disappear.

I would disagree with that, carlb.
We are not judged as believers because we are "in" Christ and God looks upon us as He does Jesus. We are covered with his blood and experience full atonement.... all sins are forgiven .past, present, and future.
We can quench the Spirit and be disobedient. But that results in God's discipline in our lives and loss of rewards in heaven. That is not judgement.
After death all believers will appear at the Judgement Seat of Christ. That judgement is a judgement of rewards. It is called the Bema Seat Judgement because it is a lot like the pedestals that athletes stand upon to receive their medals... as in the Olympics. Not all believers receive the same rewards. The Bible has much to say about that but I won't pursue it here.
My point is that a true believer has nothing to fear. God has placed His Seal upon us by giving us the indwelling Holy Spirit. He will never leave us. Like Romans 6 says, "There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

I agree mostly, but you are leaving out a vital part of the equation. Yes, we are washed clean by the Blood of Christ, but that also requires certain responsibilities on "our" (Christians) part:
For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God - I Peter 4:17
BTW, I'm very sorry to hear about Jimmy Carter. I'm torn, because he's had a long life. Much longer than the average, so he has been blessed. Still, even at my age, getting news that you have cancer still hits hard whether you're 17, 57, or 97. Still, this life wasn't meant to be permanent, and we're all gonna die of something. He's been blessed with so many years - especially with relative health.

Well, I would agree that we are called upon to "obey" God. (Trust and obey)
However, the judgement referred to in I Peter 4:17 is likely the "wheat/tares" judgement. There are always tares among the wheat (in the church) and it is God who judges the tares, not us. But scripture says that God disciplines us (not judge us) when we do not obey. And in some situations He may shorten our lives. In I Corinthians 11:29-30, Paul says that we should take the Lord's Supper very seriously and do self examination. If we realize we have been disobedient, we should not partake of the Communion until we have returned to obedience. If we do not do that, we can suffer affliction or a shortened life.
There are other places where death is mentioned as consequences to disobedience of a believer. God disciplines His children out of love for them.... just as we do our own children.
However, God's discipline is rarely harsh. Usually it involves a believer who is causing severe problems for fellow believers. We are a family and God wants us to enjoy an element of harmony.
God does not discipline unbelievers. They will face their judgement in eternity.
