One of the four women listed in the geneology of Jesus.   A prostitute who protected the Hebrew/Israelite spies and betrayed her people, knowing that God would prevail.

She lied to the authorities telling them the men had left town in one direction when actually they were still there and she would tell them where to hide.

She betrayed her own people.   How terrible is that?

yet...she holds a favored position in the grand scheme of things.

It is said she married one of the spies, Salmon according to jewish tradition....and her transformation made him overlook her past.

All i'm doing is just showing 'flaws'.   Imperfect people are used by God.    Perhaps Rahab was mistreated, harassed by her countrymen.   Abraham left Ur remember where Terah, his father, worshipped false gods.     The fact that the bible shows the warts of man in such transparent fashion, adds to the credibility of God's word.
