Shocking? Nope, not even surprising, because we all knew that was the hidden agenda all along.
"It's a no-brainer that (homosexual activists) should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that it's a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist. ...(F)ighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie.
The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don't think it should exist. And I don't like taking part in creating fictions about my life. That's sort of not what I had in mind when I came out thirty years ago.

Why would you fight for something you want to destroy?

You asked the one question the libs can't answer, because they're under the illusion it's all about civil rights.

Uh, one word answer: M-O-N-E-Y.
There is a host of benefits available to married couples from our benevolent government that are not available to those not "officially" married. (At the top of the heap, of course, is tax treatment.) Even some private entities, notably insurance companies, offer discounts to "married" people. (I remember when I got married at the tender age of 19, my car insurance rates were cut nearly in half, despite the fact that they were covering another driver.)
In any case, LGBTs don't want equal rights. They want dominance, just as all lib/progs do.
