I always liked 'Take A Pebble' as his most comprehensive vocal-laydown.
Fripp's talent overwhelmed him in King Crimson, so I was wondering if Emerson's would do the same in ELP. -Nope. It was a perfect compliment. Lake could switch from bass to lead at will.
And he's a master lyricist. -Basically inventing the mythical/elemental/phantasy/arena-rock style of composition.
