Boo-hoo-hoo...sniffle...snarf.

Good riddance to that hypocrite and member of the Board of Directors of Handgun Control inc.

One hell of an actor. He managed to get a lot of pub by being the "Ugly" in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." He did a hell of a job as the bandit chief Calvera in "The Magnificent Seven." (Not sure how the New York-bred son of Polish-Jewish immigrants came to be cast so notably as a Mexican bandit.)

Perhaps an even greater accomplishment in Hollywood -- he managed to stay married to the same woman for longer than many men live: 66 years.

I don't know about his politics, and never really heard about him supporting gun control. If he did, that's a reason for me to disagree with him and make every effort to point out that he's wrong-headed. It's not a reason for me to dance on the man's grave.

Wallach was one of the true Broadway stars as a leading man, but in movies (such as The Good, The Bad and the Ugly) he was a supporting player who stole almost every scene in which he appeared. He died at age 98, leaving behind a total body of work many if not most actors would completely envy.

R.I.P. --- and we'll remember the good, not the bad or the ugly.

His work in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" is memorable, if for nothing else than the way he deals with the gunman who has ambushed him in the bath. "When you have to shoot - shoot - don't talk".

If Eli Wallach was really for gun control, then this scene might be true. :tounge:

Anyway, he was a great actor, and "Good Bad Ugly" was one of the best movies ever. I love the touching scene when Tuco meets his brother. Tuco and Blondie are showing they have souls.
