The reporter asked him about what would happen if either of his two kids came out to him as gay or lesbian. He addressed the daughter and said he would first take her to get her nails done and then take her out swimming. For the son, he said he would take him out hunting and then swimming. She asked him to clarify what he meant and he said that he said what he meant(paraphrasing).
A number of people seem to think he was implying he would drown his kids.
Here's the thing. This could be one interpretation. But another interpretation would be is that he would simply spend time with them. There is a third one. I think the man has a dry biting wit and was treating that question with disdain in a humorous manner. If one looks at that part of the video you will see a grin right after he says he would take them swimming.
I do want to make a remark as well about Blind People and Hunting. I don't know if it's a good idea to allow a blind person to hunt. Here is why. He is more likely to hit something or someone he should not have hit. Would one allow Mr. Magoo to hunt? Is this really a good idea? Right now I stand against blind people hunting unless there is something out there that would change my mind and would make sense. To me, it's not discrimination but a safety issue.
How about we take that news reporter, that college quack, and anybody else that needs to stay out of people's personal family business and drown them?
