Some people just have a problem sleeping, when they work graveyard.

It is obvious violation of the safety rules - he is not wearing helmet.
Not sure a hard hat would help much in this case.  :tounge:

Actually, he didn't break standard safety procedures until he stopped climbing and started working. Climbing the 'ladder' (if that's what it is) is cool, even in your pajamas, but when you stop and begin working from the ladder, you have to be tied off or otherwise protected from falling. (OSHA specifies a threshold height of 6', but I've worked for companies that had internal standards as low as 4'.) I've worked as a Safety Coordinator on construction projects before, and it always surprised me when some jackass would climb a ladder in a full body harness and tied the lanyard to... you guessed it -- the ladder.

As this does not look like the U.S. he is working in.  I don't think OSHA means jack to them.       I also worked as part of our SCTeam my last 15 years of work.    Just looking at the ladder they  put up to the ladder he would have got nailed.

Yeah, that's a ladder like this is a lift:

I've heard it told over the years (usually where beer was being consumed in hefty quantities) that welding a gas tank that's completely full of gas can be done. The theory (beer-soaked though it may be) is that liquid gasoline won't/can't ignite; it has to be vaporized and mixed with the air.

Maybe so, maybe not. I rank welding on a gas tank right up there with drying out that rain-soaked dynamite in front of a roaring fire.

You only get to be wrong once.  :tounge:

I was cutting up an old abandoned car decades back, with an acetylene torch.
Tank bone dry for more than a decade, cobwebs in the neck. While cutting through the bed, the tank (unbeknownst to me) had been heating up and forcing vapors from the carbon canister near the engine back to the tank via a return line.
Before I knew it, I was 20' in the air, being launched 30' forward over the front of the car. Yeah, tank exploded. :glare:

Funny, I equate this situation to "No such thing as an empty gun".  Life lesson learned. The hard ass way.

With the crystal-clear vision afforded by 20-20 hindsight, perhaps we could call that the "dumbass way."  :tounge:

Good story!

God is a busier fellow than that, according to Bismarck. One version of a quote from the old bastard goes like this: "There is a Providence that protects idiots, drunkards, children and the United States of America."

I'm okay with most of that.  :tounge:

Well Hell, if I was a drinker, I'd have full coverage, but I think "fool" makes it double indemnity over drunkard in my case.
Drinking would probably keep me on the couch and out of trouble.
Who needs alcohol, when stupid decisions govern your path through life anyway?
