I see, in other words, you're just jealous that someone make a gazillion dollars, for something you consider worthless.
So am I to take it you have a disdain for Capitalism as well?

Hmm... I am starting to feel it is the only safe place for him.  With no light he is at home.

Or, rather, that sports worship is detrimental to society?

Or have you, exhausting your rather shallow reserve of substantive responses, just resorted to throwing out irrelevant ad hominems?

Ya know, kid, I have watched you spew adolescent nonsense ever since you blew in here, and this condescension thing you're trying to get airborne is just as lame a tactic as any on Al Gore's Internet.

Doesn't matter where you got your sources. Doesn't matter what topics you offer. You condescend --- and yet expect converts.

That's not just lame, it's transparently childish. Raise your game or be gone.

Don't play style over substance with me.  When I am debating with one of you, and you suddenly drop the actual subject and resort to accusing me of "envy" or whatever other excuse you conjure, I am fully justified in pointing out that you're posts are empty.

You are not justified in condescending to your elders and your betters.

Apparently you are of a very small minority that views sports as somehow detri-mental, most see it as a healthy distraction from their lives and some even see it as a bonding tool within the family unit.
You know, father son playing catch in the yard, sharing a weekend game together. Son grows up, plays catch with his son, takes him to the game on the weekends, the bond/connection within family strengthens.
Then there is the the appreciation of someone skilled in the sport that attracts millions of fans, fans that spend millions of dollars to watch a talented player excel in his field.
Then there is the franchise owner that realizes the value of said player and pays him accordingly, for if he did not, he would lose him to a competitor.

You see, there is a reason you don't get it, you hate competitiveness, free mkt principles, Capitalism.
Baseball, football etc, is the epitome of Capitalism, a system where the best gets paid their for their skill and the investors make a profit.

Concept alludes you, doesn't it? Only you would see this as an ad hominem attack, seeing how my having to explain Capitalism to you is embarrassing your socialist ass.

Problem is Libtards are believers in the finite pie. If "X" is getting a bigger slice, he must be taking it from "Y". All those "overpaid" athletes are taking money that "could" go to teachers. They are incapable of grasping that the athletes created wealth that wasn't there before, and are thus being paid a portion of the wealth they helped create, not appropriating a portion of "teacher" wealth. That inability to understand, is the basis of all complaints about "over/under" paid.

Explain it to him in Sim City terms. The citizens demand a stadium. Usually fewer of them demand great teachers, but if that bum on third base doesn't straighten up, then get in somebody who will.

That is so true, I had a teacher try and convince me of that shit in the early 60s, that there was only so much wealth available and that we needed laws to pry it from their greedy.
Did I mention, he thought Hitler had some great ideas?

Sounds like the old days in Orange County. B-1 Bob Dornan era, maybe.
