There are many truly successful black people, but for all intents and purposes, they might as well be invisible. The only black person who is ever portrayed as successful; is a sports or entertainment figure and the occasional government figure. And when a black does succeed - as a businessman for example - it's only mentioned in passing. For example Dave Bing was a successful businessman before he took on the impossible task of trying to save his adopted home town of Detroit. I used to joke about the fact that if a news pimp was doing a "standup" in Bedford-Stuyvesant, they would always do it in front of the one broken down building on the block. Or in front of an empty lot - and ignore all the well kept brownstones that made up the rest of the block. Often hard working, honest blacks, might as well be on another planet. What you will always get is the welfare mother of five kids, by four different men, none of whom are still around.  The Jacksons and Sharptons make their living off this stereotype. That and the "angry black man" stereotype. It's what the media prefers, and what they present.

Of course there are many successful black people. They wake up every morning, find there way to work.............typical Americans.

They don't count in Jesse's world.................not Obama's either. I suspect that many of them are also conservatives.

Statements like this, and their putting forth that Black Americans will be somehow unable to get photo identification by November, makes one wonder if the Black leadership believes that a good portion of their constiuency shouldn't walk the street without Government supervision.

The 'CP' at the end of NAACP stands for "Communist Party".
