In case you missed the story, a man and a friend in southern California, near the Mexican border, were working on the man's cannon late one night when it went off and blew a hole through the man's mobile home, killing his wife.  The article didn't mention alcohol was involved, but I think it's a safe bet.

Now, everybody has a cannon, right? I think the federal government should require all manufacturers of cannons to put written warnings on them that say this:

DO NOT PLAY WITH YOUR CANNON IF YOU HAVE BEEN DRINKING.
DO NOT WORK ON YOUR CANNON WHILE IT IS LOADED.
MAKE SURE YOUR CANNON IS NOT POINTED AT YOUR RESIDENCE WHILE YOU'RE PLAYING WITH IT.  YOUR NEIGHBOR'S RESIDENCE IS OKAY.  JUST NOT YOURS.
BEFORE YOU BUY ANOTHER CANNON, THINK: WHAT THE HECK DO I NEED A CANNON FOR?

I read where he and his friend were pretty much soused.
He's been arrested for a homicide.
