I fall into the lesser of two evils opinion. It's purely selfish, but we as a nation are far safer with Israel in power in the mid east than with what turned out to be the radical Muslim. If the cease fire Trump has started holds, I am all for cutting off subsidies and lets put our money into trade schools here.


But have to add, I will have to admit the more the left screams out their hatred for the Jews, the more I am on the Jewish side. So yeah, I have fallen for some of the manipulation.

What if they didn't buy the land back and Israel didn't exist?
Truth is, we are to blame for the mess in the M/E via the CIA.

Disclaimer; I could be wrong about everything. I never did a deep dive into this conflict. In a fight there does not have to be a good guy vs a bad guy. Bad guys can fight each other.

I was always was pro Jew and  pro Israel. I never cared much for Islamic culture and values. Lots of terrorism. I recall Pres Clinton arranged a good two state deal but Yasser Arafat  turned it down. Moderate Palestinians were killed by the radicals. Most Israelis favored a 2 state solution.

I pay little attention until Oct 7 2023. I am ignorant abut what happened until then. I hear that Hamas was elected and do not want a 2 state solution. Hamas is supported by Netanyahu and his party as they do not want a 2 state solution also!  I hear that much of any aid sent to the Palestinians is used for military and tunnel use.

The leaders of surrounding countries do not like the Palestinians one bit but much of their pop prefers them over the Jews. The Israelis come to be dominated by people who do not want a 2 state solution. IMO the Israelis went out of their way to treat the Palestinians like garbage. I think this includes those in the west bank where Jews settle where they were not supposed to settle.

Most Israelis around  80 percent approve of the way Palestinians are treated and most believe that God gave Israel to the Jews.

I do not think that Iran is as bad as most people in US believe. They have mellowed since Carter. They support organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah who were not doing much terrorism until recently. You could call such support military. Not like blowing airplanes out of the sky or killing children in school buses as in the old days.

I don't think the Israelis are cut out for long term war with Iran. I don't care much for either side. I think Trump is getting played by Netanyahu.

Even without an Israel, I believe radical Islam would have taken over Iran and Afghanistan, the U.S. increasing it's role as a world power brought on as much hate as Israel having it's own state. In other words, the unrest we are seeing in the mideast would have come regardless of Israel being there or not.

A quick look at how radical Islam treats its own women, other beliefs, etc. shows they can hate anywhere, even in their own country. We just look the other way when they are killing their own people.

Israel being there just took much of the brunt of the hate. I also think Israel being there is a main reason Jews have not been bombed here.

But, when I look at the conflict in the mideast, I don't really see one really good guy vs evil. I'm sure my opinion would be different had I lived in Israel for any length of time.

I keep hearing the phrase "leading sponsor of world terror" but some guests on Judge Nap, former CIA said this is not true as the US state dept tracks such things and Iran is not in such a list and has not been for maybe decades.

Acts of terror are public and scare people. I think of PLO and IRA.  Iran has not sponsored them for a long time? Iran sponsors maybe Hamas and/or Hezbollah. I do not recall if either did much terrorism before Oct 7 and even that could be considered military. I think Hezbollah was a shadow govt in south Lebanon.

In recent history Israel blew peoples faces off using rigged pagers. They have been assassinating civilian experts on arms in various Islamic organizations. They have also been assassinating people  in leadership positions in Islamic organizations like Iranian govt and maybe Hezzbolah. They have blown up an apt building to kill one Iranian missile expert. They have recently been killing the people negotiating across the table from them. Lots of so called "decapitation" operations inside Iran.

I agree. Unfortunately, radicals hijacked the religion, and regardless of borders, they hate each other.
They live for conflict and dominance over one another. I guess the 7th century froze in time.

Iran is and has been the number one supporter of terrorism.

In this conflict with Israel there are those of the opinion that there were no "good" guys in the conflict. Maybe so, but there was one party, run by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that is pure evil. Iran advances nothing, their stated goal is the destruction of Israel and the United States. Trump did the right decision by making sure Iran will not have nuclear bombs for a long time. Iran has killed enough with what they hace.
