The way criminals and these so called "citizens" act, they need that stuff.

I will never forget the destruction and mayhem from the "peaceful protests".
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street I'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.
This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.
How come nobody was interested in educating people about these rights until online videos got monetization?

I don't remember the rioters getting arrested. They were allowed to burn at will.

Nowadays, there is no lone gunman, There is coordination in the deep state. Nobody really commits commits suicide on their own. Nobody really does things on their own. Can a skilled or lucky gunman pull off shooting a moving target like that? Of course. Was it the real first instance of deep state elimination? Of course. Given our experiences now, should we care about Democrats as a whole? Of course not.

He talks about other things, but he doesn't talk about this specific thing. I need to know why he said I/we should not care a whole lot about JFK's assassination. You/I may not agree with the reason, but give me a reason. Ben did not clearly state it.

That happens when government tied the hands of law enforcement.

Still, given what these animals are capable of, they need that equipment. Of course, other things need to happen in conjunction with proper equipment.

But it was government who bought the equipment for the local police. Yet, it is not used on rioters. why not? If the purpose is to go after the bad guys, how about using them when the cities are being burned down? Think of ruby ridge and Waco, think of who was the enemy back during the pandemic. These weapons are to intimidate citizens not criminals.

And such equipment should NOT be used on rioters. They aren't armed like the drug gangs and rarely do they use firearms at all.  The age old arguement against police using "Military style" weapons and equipment is one I had to deal with my entire professional life. I began my career using the Smith & Wesson 6 shot model ten revolver, detectives and plainclothesmen carried 5 shot S&W snub nose. All 38 Caliber. Some Patrol cars or the Sergeant had a pump action remington 870 12 guage. The bad guys were armed with "Saturday night specials mostly"  Those raven 25 caliber 22 jet fire, once in awhile you'd see a 32 caliber semi auto some off brand type or a (usually stolen) 38 revolver. But the bad guys could carry anything they could get their hands on, sometimes you'd find a 45 1911 or maybe a 357  Our SWAT teams at the time had, I kid you not, 30 30 winchester lever actions and a few sawed off shotguns, Army surplus flak jackets and the GI steel pot helmets.

NOBODY had bullet proof vests, they weren't around until the mid to later 1970's. Second chance body armor and you had to buy them on your own. Around about the late 1980's is when crack hit the streets and EVERYTHING Changed. I recall the Jamaican Posse's coming down from New York and using mac ten and ingram 9 MM with 20 round mags. Street sweeper shotguns and of course the Browning 9mm with 14 shots. Blowing up neighborhoods all over DC, 50 to 100 rounds or more expended shell casings in some of these drive bys. Simply put, we were Outgunned still carrying the 38s as a detective and a plainclothesman I carried the snub nose, used the 4 inch model 10 on a raid. By this time we all had better body armor, safariland which would stop a 44 mag.

So about 1991 the Department got Federal Money to armed the entire 3,000 man Dept with first Generation glocks 17 9MM
and better body armor and ballistic shields. You should have heard the outcry, Oh the cops are increasing their killing power, blah blah blah, In the meantime the crack wars were responsible for over 400 murders a year like three years in a row.

So here we are again arguing that cops shouldn't have this equipment because it "Intimidates" citizens. Really? It intimidates the bad guys so they stop being bad guys? NO they carry more and better weapons like the AR AK's and SKS, nowadays such weapons are not uncommon among Criminals AND LAW ABIDING CITIZENS Also, Never mind the fact that this equipment has saved many officers lives especially the military style plate carrier body armor.  And here's a funny thing, speaking entirely anecdotal, there were actually FEWER Police shootings when we transitioned to the Glocks.

Have you seen the pictures of the Mexican Drug cartels lately? They are better armed and better equipped than the Mexican Military. How about those video's of the Tren De Aragua armed with long guns and Semi Auto pistols that the Colorado City officials said didn't exist?

We could delve into the infamous North Hollywood shoot out

I wonder how many lives would have been saved had the police some of those armored humvs and tracs picture in the aforementioned Meme?

Unarmed doesn't mean they are not dangerous. Them "peaceful protesters" were unarmed while they burned down cities over a thug criminal. "Peaceful protesters" are unarmed while they throw Molotov cocktails at Tesla dealers. Them same "peaceful protesters are made up of Antifa; should we talk about the terrorism they pulled off? Remember the bike lock?

Left-wing city governments tied the hands of police, so they didn't get a chance to do anything.

Great if it is used on bad guys, but I can not see any reason to use it on the law abiding citizens. Where was all of this equipment when cities were being burned down? When riots were taken place? If it isn't used in cases such as those, why is it needed? I think a greater presence on the streets by the police would have a more positive result than having a Humvee used in traffic stops. The average citizen is NOT the enemy.
