I would change it to checking all fluids, and not necessarily changing the oil.
I would change it to having a financial budget (including balancing a checkbook/bankbook), and not necessarily doing taxes.

Jump starting the car.
Checking tire pressure and inflating them to the proper pressure.
Performing vehicle safety checks (all lights work, wipers are not streaking, vehicle doesn't pull to the side or vibrate when going down the road, etc.).
The difference between wants and needs, and understand that distinction (you need a dependable, lifestyle functional vehicle, you want a sports car to look cool; you need to go to the grocery store, you want to go to the night club for overpriced drinks in order to pick up gold digging sluts).
The reality of your rights, and the responsibility that goes with that (courtesy goes a long way).
Don't believe everything you are told, or shown. 
The worshiping of false idols, don't get excited about any of these celebrities. Like the music, like the shows/movies, but don't get caught up in the hoopla. These are still just people, and they have the same faults as regular people.

Crap! I forgot about that. Yes. They can't count change. If the amount is $10.66, giving $11.16 means give me 50 cent. Two quarters (not a combination of dimes and nickles!).

But, let's have basic financial math skills: like figuring out which price per product amount is the better deal, change making, and loan rate interest amount.
